I was there, officiating the horizontals. Timer is a legit timer and mt sac is strong. They have a good coaching staff so until this is really disproved, I say it’s the coaching :)

@joeycarter88462 жыл бұрын
When I first saw the time this weekend, I too was in disbelief. Looking at the video, clearly the guy on his left false started....but even so Garcia ran a good race, like many of his other races. But 9.88? The timing mechanism must be checked. If everyone's running "faster" than normal that day, even a 1/10 error can mean a PB...and a possible world-leading time. He needs to duplicate the result....and the Mt. SAC system needs to be calibrated.

Not hating, just common sense from people that study track and field for a living. I watched the video, it was a CLEAR false start(by someone else) , not Garcia. Everybody in the male and female 100m race PR by .3-.8sec, times are not accurate
@YSoAggressive2 жыл бұрын
Because he didn’t run 9.88, it did not happen. Not to mention the massive jump in improvement from his last time, it would’ve been around a 0.3 sec improvement. Went from a 10.2 runner to a gold medal threat in the Olympics.

We arguing with the clock now.... If that's what the official time was then that's what the official time was. You all know I have watched meat on TV and the clock didn't match up right? Let's not begin to do this in track and field. Anytime one runs a fast time they must follow it up with a fast time anyway so let's give him a chance.

Usain Bolt ran 9.76 out of nowhere in 2008. Many outside of Jamaica said the time was fake and was wondering if the timing system in Jamaica was adequate. 2 weeks later he went to NYC and shut everyone who question if his 9.76 was real by breaking the world record!
@jermaineayivoh82632 жыл бұрын
The difference being that Bolt was already a 19.7 200m sprinter and the 2007 Osaka World Championship Silver medalist in the 200m before he ran that 9.76 in early May of 2008. His coach had only entered him into 2 official 100m races before that infamous 9.76 run, otherwise people would have realised much sooner that he was capable of running well below 10 secs. Anyways Garcias time was put up on the official iaaf top lists website for a couple of days but has as of yesterday been removed again, so now it’s almost guaranteed that his 9.88 was not real, otherwise the iaaf would have had no reason to remove his time from the top times list.
@416yaadie2 жыл бұрын
@@jermaineayivoh8263 Michael Johnson ran 19.32 and. PB of 10.08, Warren weir ran 10.02 once but most of the time at his peak ran the 100m at around 10.2-3 but still ran 19.7. I remember it up this day there was even a bigger uproar. I agree with you when you said it was obvious that Bolt was capable of running below 10 base on what he did on the corner in 07 by beaten gay off the corner when gay had a PB at the time of 9.84. Kenny bednarek ran a wind aided 19.49 at JUCO and many question his time. The man was running 10.1 before plus Ferdinand omanyala ran 10.32 in 2020. Are you going to tell me his 9.77 ain't real? That's even a bigger jump than Bolt and Garcia. If he didn't do it against a top field like that many would have questions his time
@jermaineayivoh82632 жыл бұрын
@@416yaadie Well now it’s official, the people that were responsible for taken the times at the meet admitted that they had issues with the timing and that times are considered as “no time”. So Garcia’s 9.88 is now officially considered not to be legit.

Going from 10.01 to 9.88 is totally possible for some one his talent. I hear most hating on the kid, when in case of the perfect storm happens and all things come together..from the start, all running phases, all things are possible. It's possible but don't say it's not possible if you don't have proof that it's not.
