Flower Sweep (Tips to Counter the Guard Break and Improve Timing)

This Flower Sweep is a great sweep. I personally never had much success with it until recently. The biggest problem for me was timing. I just didn't have the "feel" for the right time to use it.
Recently I was using the flower sweep with a ton of success against every belt level. It was like a light bulb went off for me. I discovered a few tricks for making it work more often.
Here is one of the timing tips to using the flower sweep. When someone is doing a low guard break you can use the momentary change in their base to make the sweep work.

my coach and i drilled this today for this first time. I def need to drill it many more times because Im not smooth with it yet but i was kinda getting the hang of it. ive only been doing BJJ for a few months and all these techniques look easy when a black belt does it but then I go to try and it's hard as fuck lol.

Most schools I've been to call this the "V-sweep" and use the flower sweep anonymously with the pendulum sweep? Either way, good details, thanks!!

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad the details were helpful. Yeah some of the names I use for techniques might be different than the usual. I don't use the term V Sweep and consider this the flower and the version where you underhook and swing your legs out the pendulum. Just the way I learned them. :)

Pendulum sweep and flower sweep are two different techniques.
