Nicole, from one flower farmer to another...you may rest, my friend. It is ok if you skip a video (or something else) and get some extra rest. I have been working nonstop for 3 days getting everything in the ground and I am not even close to done. I am whooped, and I am doing a quarter of what you're doing. I think of you all the time while I'm working and can't figure out how you do it. If I am this whooped, you must be WAY more so! I love all that you do and always learn tons from you. I am so grateful for all of your work. But girl, you should rest some lol. Much love from a fellow farmer ❤❤❤❤❤

Congrats on your Mother’s Day sale and seedling sale. I have made desision not to focus so much on the bulbs that produce a single stem of florets, because return on investment is so low. I am just entry level flower farmer but Experienced business investor. I have sold $314 on the crapiest flea market my flower arrangements last week without any lisences and paperwork just to test market .Labor cost must be calculated in to your expense regardless you like it or nor, otherwise you are passionate about your hobby and your business keep loosing. I ran some small trial and planted my tulips and daphodils bulbs that I purchase from Walmart in pots, one bulb per pot and sold them for $5 without digging, cleaning , storing in the fridge. I’m am in zone 9b and they don’t do well here. I am just sharing my thoughts and staff with you my flower friend!

A tip for next time you are staking your plants. I use this method on all my plants- houseplants, 7ft tall tomatoes , seedlings. Go to hobby lobby or Amazon and get a big bag of pipe cleaners. They can be cut to length desired, one twist and they are secure and can be loosely applied so the plant isn’t harmed.

I have been looking at different bulb websites because I would like to preorder some tulips and daffodils for the fall for my garden. I had the same reaction you did when I saw the Sensual Touch Tulips. I think my exact words to my husband was “Sensual Touch. That’s a weird name for a tulip. Sounds like the name of a personal lubricant.” Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought the name was weird. 😂

Sooo happy to get to relax after a looong busy day to your video!!! I wish I lived closer!!(I live in Virginia), bc I would've bought soooo many of your san marzano tomatoes!! Also, fir your birdie friends.. do you think if you added a small pile of birdseed next to their nest, maybe they'd become more friendly? We put a picnic table bird feeder out, and after a few weeks, the birds aren't scared to eat out of it, while I work in the garden! Ok, big hugs, toodle loo!

@@freshpetals_ !! We literally got the idea to put a bird feeder out, after finding a nest in our front yard!! My 8yo son picked the bird feeder! Good luck on your bird feeder shopping! 💖😀

I choose to blame you for my own ranunculus depression cuz had I NOT watched your videos on pre-sprouting & that one where your friends chimed in about how great they are I wouldn't have tried again! This is my 3rd attempt but first with the "secret weapon" (aka pre-sprouting). I have 4 red buds opening BUT most of the MANY I planted are not that far along and the 10 day forecast shows a week of days in the 80's!! A single day up tho 75 damaged my first opening bud so I can only imagine the drama to come. However I'm a gardener therefore I will put them in my greenhouse/catio & cover with shade cloth in an attempt to see more than these 4! Curse sorting in VA!! It's been so cool I thought I'd finally be successful. Next year I'll start earlier. Grrr. I'm crossing my fingers for you too! It might be my chance at vicarious success! Picture my first beautiful red bloom, undamaged & fully open here! Woohoo

I want what ever kind of Ginormous Tomatoes you were making sandwiches with last season. They were huge! You even hooked your daughter on Tomato Sandwiches because they were so amazing! I think everyone goes for the Beef Steak Tomatoes (the largest portion of my Tomatoes also) because they are so user friendly. But now I want to try the San Marsanos! Why I gotta do? LOL

Re: San Marzano tomatoes: they didn’t do anything for me until temperatures reached in the mid-high 80s last summer (Northern California). They grew and grew close to 7feet tall before they gave me any flowers in August. Then the high heat of 90+ killed off the flowers and I got maybe 2 -4 tomatoes at most all summer. Perhaps I planted mine too late (July) or they were shaded by other tomato plants?! Wishing everyone that plants SM tomatoes has an amazing harvest! 🍅

Your tulips looks beautiful. I always think those double pink ones look like peonies. What will you do with the rest of your seedlings?

I just received all my ranunculus corms last week from Dutch bulbs and Eden Bros! I’m in zone 5a in Vermont and google says I’m okay to plant mid-May for late summer blooms 😬 That was their shipping schedule based on my growing zone (I ordered in February) I’m soaking them now to plant tomorrow and hoping for the best 🤞🏼 I did plant a box I picked up at the grocery store about a month ago and they are already a few inches tall! No buds yet though 😕

Yikes, this is exactly why my first batch failed. I only had one three inch bloom because it just got too hot. I suppose it's worth a try!

$4.99 for a 4in pot of a single tomato plant (or any veg seedling) here in California. Whether it’s at a farm stand or big box stores or at the plant nurseries- all same price. They went up $1 from last year.

I couldn’t believe it when she said 2.50, here in Westchester we are paying double for much smaller plants.

Today is 5/26/21 It is the 1st blooms on my peonies. I got a small vase full of them. I live in middle part of Michigan. Did you know that Peonies do not need ants to open the buds. Ants are attracted to them because of the sugars that the flowers give off.

The ants made mine fall apart, but I got about 4 gorgeous blooms from its first year of blooming. Just took 2 1/2 years to get here. I even sprayed a natural mixture to get rid of them, it discolored my leaves though. I cut the bush back for next season.

Congrats on a successful sale! This video was really motivating. Wondering... do you buy pots for your seedling sale?

I did end up having to buy pots. The milk cartons we saved ended up molding 🙄

@@FlowerHillFarm oh that's a bummer :( We did a plant sale on Saturday and I think we should have potted up the tomatoes. Any good sources for pots?
