As a consumer one thing I would want is variety in a 6 pack. For instance, instead of 6 scotch kale maybe 3 scotch 3 dinosaur. Or for the marigolds maybe 3 white with 3 yellow. Just a thought for something that would pull me in.

I have thought so as well, I love having different varieties but like the value in buying more than 1 plant. I have tossed around the idea of starting a tomato variety pack. Couple romas, couple slicers, a cherry and a fun color one. Also doing like a salsa/pasta sauce pack, 2 tomatoes, 2 peppers and 2 cilantro or basil or even green onion. It would be so fun!

I would love to see you offer a small discount or bonus plant if people returned the pots to you. It encourages less waste and less garbage, and keeps people mindful of the plastic they're throwing away. Also keeps people keen to see you again :)

My husband built me a greenhouse last winter. When I planted, I planted too much, so I sold my extra from my greenhouse. I plan to do the same this year. I’m a terrible introvert so it was really hard. I sold way to cheap, lesson learned. Thank you so much for the pep talk 😊🙏🏻

I was thinking of doing this and then also in the end of summer fall when people don’t have access to plant starts. I think that might be a cool way to maximize how much you can make. Big box stores don’t offer plant starts for fall garden plants like cabbage, broccoli, Brussels ect. Just a thought that I was having last year when I was trying to do a fall garden and got a late start and was looking for started brassicas

Last year was my first time selling starts. I found that many people who bought from me had no idea how to grow veggies. They just wanted to give it a try. Others only wanted the standard hybrids that they knew about like Better Boys and Beefsteaks. I was selling mostly heirlooms and they were varities that I loved and had grown for their special taste. I added some of those hybrids with the familar names and people were happier. I guess you have to know your customer base. I just wanted people to try some great tasting tomatoes. Herbs did really well as well as sunflower starts. I'm looking for a new place this year as the place I was last year is not availble to me this spring. Our farmers market in town requires you to have a business license and pay 30.00 per market. That cuts way into my profit and they have a lot of rules about how you set up and signage. The are way too regulated for me to enjoy.
