I think the deal was that for him to return he had to wrestle up 3 weight classes to make it fair. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not though. I could be wrong. You would have to clarify this because I don't really know if it was 3 or 4 four weight classes they make him wrestle up now.

Y’all hated him as a Hawkeye, and I just hope and pray that you can find solace in watching this “once in lifetime talent” continue to do amazing things on and off the mat. He’s a hell of a wrestler and key future piece of TeamUSA. He looks stronger, quicker, and more focused than I’ve seen him in a long time which scary at this point of his career. Freestyle has always been his first love and preferred style, and we’re seeing that now. When Spencer is having fun, he’s the best in the world.🙏🏼 #FutureWorldChamp #FutureOlympicChamp #He’sBack!!!

@@RandyProctor-l7z I don’t need to “spark controversy”. ESPN, Flo, and Big10 all got their rocks off showing his mom break her glasses when he was upset by Ramos. Media and sick fans from everywhere loved popping off at the mouth when had to injury default the rest of NCAAs after than match. Then everyone gave him hell for pulling out of the US Open. I don’t blame you for you not knowing this stuff as it’s evident you’re not as big of wrestling fan as I am. And that’s okay. I don’t hold that against you. But to try to say I’m “trying to spark controversy” is laughable when I’ve said he’s the best in the world. Don’t blame it on me. I’m Team Spenser all the way. Lee's problem (aside from the obvious knee health issues) is that he's very good on the feet and good at scrambling and then he masters one high scoring move better than anyone else in the world (in folkstyle it was the tilt, in freestyle it's the leglace). But then he coasts using it. I think it prevents him from being well rounded, so, if someone can counter it, he gets into positions he's not used to. Where is his defense? Where are the chest wraps or any other defensive scoring moves. His defense is mostly based around outpowering his opponents. That will get him some NCAA titles, it might even get him a world championship. But I don't think it will let him win the Olympics. He will meet a competitor that is as good as him on his feet, can counter his big scoring move, is as strong as he is, and has more techniques in their arsenal.

Spencer, to me, did a total 'bitch' move in the ncaa's he clung on to a medical default( like that was the reason he was pinned by Matt Ramos). He was wrestling just fine before he got caught and pinned it was totally a snowflake move on his part and tom brands should had been in his ear telling him that's not what a true Iowa hawkeye wrestler does, never give up even in defeat!!

Too bad he ended his collegiate career so poorly. That's all people think about. Getting stuck and then quitting.
