What he said about having a good team around you is true. I always felt like I needed to do everything myself, but it’s beneficial to surround yourself with others who have similar goals and it’s even better if you’re never the smartest person in the room. Other people in similar situations can always give you insight that you haven’t considered.

There’s a lot of differing POVs on this. On one hand, some say he’s destroying his legacy, as a 50-0 multi-division champion, by fighting an 0-2 KZbin star. But, on the flip side, he’s broken down barriers and shown other fighters they can control their destiny-and earning potential-by paving their own lane and owning their own promotion. He’s also looking at a $50M+ payday for a match he’s virtually guaranteed to win. Meanwhile, most lifelong boxers are lucky to make anything, or even do fights that fans want, because they aren’t in control.

We were all in the locker room when Floyd made a great point about this objection. To paraphrase-he prioritized defense early on in his career because he didn't want to end up like the other great fighters with brain damage. Same thing with money. You are blessed for "cheating skills"... Still, no one can forget how you were supposed to lose to Maidana I fight, yes & also with Mosely fight. One time you were knockdown by one guy but still you won because you punched him unaware while he tried to apologize for hitting you bad. Those were still part of your records which a truly boxing fan would just don't & can't forget.
@BrianJRoberts3 жыл бұрын
I hear that! But it’s really hard to attribute it all to that and deny his skill in a lot of other fights (e.g., Floyd’s speed, defense and fight IQ during that Canelo fight)
@monkstormingenuities95123 жыл бұрын
Ok, I know because he was a bit matured that time... Of course he is quick but he is also quick to run and embrace most of the time. I understand he is protected with his record, there was a "secret pact" with "the powers that be"... Sorry Bro, I just knew something that maybe you don't. In fairness, he is still a better fighter than most of his contemporaries but not the greatest. He should have at least 2 loses.
