@@donporongon Are you serious? A media construction? You do realize that the media did not face any of the 50 fighters Floyd beat without ever being knocked down. You bring up Cotto, but ultimately he lost even though he had some success. And that success was with the jab. The only other thing that could give Floyd trouble was if a fighter could throw 75 punches a round. Floyd can get comfortable playing defense and can be outworked here and there as was case with Maidana. Only problem is that you will eat a lot of clean leather doing this and that is hard to do. Maidana also showed how overhand right can also land on floyd as he can not lean away from it or roll it. As for Roger Mayweather, you cant compare him to Floyd as Roger didnt really fight like floyd and didnt use shoukder roll. Last, really cool that we can talk in different languages and have translated.

Some people don't know this, but Cotto actually fights in the Orthodox stance with his power hand forward. He's a lefty that fights in Orthodox. So that means any lead left hook that he landed or even jab was done with the power hand. Floyd struggled a bit with that, His style is more situated. The shoulder roll style is more situated against right hands. Not power forward. Left hands in the Orthodox stance, but was able to make coto miss enough to outpoint him.

A lot of people who do not follow boxing or weren’t alive yet don’t know something. This fight between Mayweather and Cotto was supposed to happen years before it did. At that time Cotto was undefeated and was the rising star out of Puerto Rico. Mayweather was still establishing himself as the ‘draw’. Oh, and Cotto was crushing his opponents-important fact. The fight never materialized. Would anyone be brave enough to guess as to which one of the two bowed out and took the path of least resistance? Of course you can-Mayweather. Why fight a man who can beat you? Why fight a man if you don’t have to? At that time Cotto was in his early 20’s and hadn’t been beaten yet and Mayweather didn’t want anything to do with someone dangerous, so he waited until Cotto was older and battle worn.

No and NO. There is nothing of Roy Jones in Mayweather. Jones was 10 times better and for at least a decade in his PRIME, his fights were not even remotely competitive. His fights were literally like watching a super hero fight a mere mortal. Jones was doing the kinds of things that you just don't see from fighters. Even the most elite. He was also an extremely hard puncher with either hand. There is absolutely nothing remotely similar about these two fighters.

Roy was unnaturally fast, had SUPERB HAND AND FOOT coordination, BALANCE, mongoose type reflexes, a good chin ( you don't go an entire DECADE fighting such a variety of fighters from Middleweight up to heavyweight and have a weak chin) and unfathomable power. This is unusual because normally stylish Stick and move boxers don't have legitimate SHOCK power punching ability. Only Ray Robinson and Roy did. They could knock a man out with one punch if necessary. I referred to Roy as the "dancing slugger ". He was knocking opponents out going BACKWARDS. For an entire decade Jones was The boxing version of the comic book character Super Man. People tuned in just to see how dominant and show stopping Roy was going to be. In ten years Roy may have lost a total of 6 to 8 rounds? And he did it over 4 weight classes. And unlike Mayweather, Roy Fought TOP TIER P4P BLACK FIGHTERS IN THEIR PRIMES. No steady diet of flat footed, mediocre, b- level latino fighters who had a name and a large following but nothing else, as Mayweather did when he became a pay per view star. Roy didn't discriminate or feel threatened by anyone's style. He took on all comers and even though he had his share of tomatoe cans like every other fighter, he has some Hall of Famers on his resume who were in THEIR LEGITIMATE PRIMES when he beat them. James Tony, Bernard Hopkins, two of the most technically skilled fighters to ever grace a ring and Jones took them to school. Mayweather would never dare to fight a high IQ, TOUGH, versatile elite level black fighter in their prime when he came back and became a Star. Not ONE black fighter though they were available and willing to fight, was considered. He didn't want to take that chance and possibly lose which could have happened or at the very least be made to look human and less than spectacular if he had fought Spence, Kellbrook, Porter, Thurman, Bradley, Winky Wright who he called out and then ducked. .... Again no 2 fighters could be more different.

Mayweather was a master at fighting guys either before their primes or after. Perfect examples, Canelo was 22 years old and not ready for a fight like that and, Manny PACman was at least 3 years past his prime. Not to say either guy would have beat Floyd (probably not) but it goes to show Floyd had smart representation and got good advice. Floyd might be the only boxer in history to never be in a good fight. That goes to show you how good Floyd was. Imagine, 40 fights and basically none of them were close.

Absolutely. Pretty much all of his big fights (that I remember) were like that. But it's not unique to Floyd. To a lesser extent, Manny also fought Cotto post-Margarito I (I think the amount of damage boxers suffer from a beating like that is very underestimated. They are never the same, physically or mentally). Careful, borderline insidious matching-making has always been a part of the game: even Leonard basically pounced on Durán mere months after their first fight, orchestrating a rematch when the latter had let himself go beyond recognition. Pretty much all of them do it, and PBF's list of victims seems a bit more obvious. But that's not to say Floyd is a "paper tiger." After all, he's ONE of the best ever ("OOTBE" if you will). So I would not go as far as saying any of them would've readily beaten him had they been "prime 100%."
