Great to see you Chris - 5:26 can you put links in your description for your English course? I love "reverse" language learning and actually have a few. If I need a VPN to access I'll get one :) (I'm in the San Francisco Bay area). Marriage and being a father suits you - you've never looked better! Best wishes for continued success. -Daniel update: Ok "British Little Kerry" I think I found you over there lol :) Nice! :) ________________ Daniel Léo Simpson Composer San Francisco

Yes you can search for 英国小克里 or 小克里 on any of the big Chinese social media, or I will probably put some of the content on here as well

great to see you back chris - was wondering where you've been - your english accent now sounds a bit americany esp at the beginning of the video - is american english preferred over british english, [or english english as i call it!] now in china?
@FluentinMandarinDotCom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think that a lot of people are speaking with American English in China, but that's not really the reason why my accent has changed.I think it's because I had a lot of friends from the US and Canada and also I was not in the UK, I was also listening to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks from the US. But now I'm back in the UK so my accent might get less 'Americany' again!

What was the process of you becoming a translator and interpreter? I am majoring in Chinese and am interested in that career path!
@FluentinMandarinDotCom3 жыл бұрын
That's great. For translation, you can start just by getting a certificate for your Chinese ability then going to clients or putting the word out and start on jobs. For interpreting it would be better to do a formal course or get formal training. Word of mouth is always the best way, and getting recommendations

Hey mate nice to see you are doing well. How is China dealing with the virus? Are they under reporting virus cases? Many thanks and kind regards,
@FluentinMandarinDotCom3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, in the past they were probably under reporting, but now even if there are more cases than they say, there are still not that many, overall they've mostly got rid of it. There are always problems calculating the number of cases anywhere, because some people don't get tested or don't tell anybody. Hard to really know.

why did you go back to the UK instead of staying in China?
@burnzy32103 жыл бұрын
there was a mas exodus of foreigners in china as they were becoming demonised and mistreated
@bankbank3 жыл бұрын
@@burnzy3210 nobody was forced to leave - and if he had Chinese family members (wife), then he certainly would have no problem staying. I doubt that is the reason.
