Another multifluid manometer example. This time the end is not open to the atmosphere. Instead it is connected to a pipe that transports gasoline. All our fluids are given to us in specific gravity, which we can easily convert to density or specific weight.

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was using kPa in my calculations but now I know we must convert to Pa. Thank you!

An inverted differential manometer is connected to two pipe A And B carrying water under pressure as shown in fig.2.26. the fluid in the manometer is oil of specific gravity 0.75 .Determine the pressure dufference between A and B

So the pressure of the air is still 370000Pa? Can i say the gas pressure is 370000Pa?

please why did you multiply mercury and gasoline with 9.81 and didnt for others?

Nabeel lee I multiplied all liquids by 9.81 so I could find pressure. Pressure is the density of the fluid(rho)*gravity(g)*difference in height(h). The only term not multiplied by 9.81 is air since it is already given to us in pressure.

What if we are given air ρ=1.2kg/m^3 then we take height into account?

Then you just used that given density. That doesn’t change the process shown in the video.
