It's about time you made it to The Chick. That's my home lake, and I believe I saw you that day that Red/Burgundy Alumacraft is pretty un-mistakable. I pulled a 5+ out of the grass about a week ago, 11/6/16 fishing with a buddy of mine. It was on a frog on my 7' MH 13 Fishing Omen rod with a 7.1 Lew's speed spool. I love those rods. I just wish I could put up the pic in the comments. Hurry back now ya hear!

i fish a short heavy rod for frogs all the time because im short and it really doesn't make you lose that much fish what ive seen that makes you loose fish is the action so like i use a fast or extra fast and anything under that you tend to miss fish because you cant get to the hooks quick enough

So I caught my first frog fish this evening thanks to your video. I fished them before but not with confidence. Tonight was fishing the grass line and they weren't hitting the bait I was flipping and heard those poops you talk about so I grabbed a frog and bam he smoked it. So everyone is right Top water bites are definitely the best.

Have had good (well, fair) luck fishing a frog over matted grass. My biggest problem is patience, waiting to set the hook after a bass blows up on the frog. Took my grandson fishing this past Saturday on a lake just north of town that is full of hydrilla and is now getting LOTS of that floating gunk all around. A storm blew in and we had to tie up to a tree on the bank and wait it out (about an hour). While there my grandson cast his frog out into the mat a few times and caught one, but missed three others. Great fun watching them blow up on the frog. Just need more patience!

You're on the right track. Treat it like it's dirtier water. The bass will hold tighter to cover and not move around as much. Their strike zone will also be smaller.

Gene, need your help and advice, I recently purchased a boat, and a elite 7 chirp, ..1: I can read structure pretty well and I can tell the schools of shad, but I can't seem to understand what a game fish would/should look like around said shad and structure, any tips?? 2: what is too deep to look for fish and what are good baits for fishing deep? (I'm used to "beating the banks", not so much "off shore fishing") .. thanks in advance!

Great video! I've watched this many times, but have questions for you. When i cast long over a blow hole, I'm scaring the fish. I see them swirl an dive for cover. Cant get them on my frog. Also, I've been told to let frog pause for seconds before next movement, but I see you twitch/reel/twitch with constant motion. Thanks for your instructions, keep them coming!

How do you add beads, rattles to a frog? Do you remove the weight and glue it back on? Great video, nice tips for using the medium heavy. Never thought one would ever need to cut off the tails on a frog, great tip! I'd always see the lines on mats, but I never thought about the other visible clues. Tight lines!

I've heard of guys using a black sharpie to color the first few feet of braid above their frog for more camo. I think that's just a confidence thing because black will show up better against a blue or white sky. Maybe at night? What are your thoughts on it? I don't think it really matters especially if the slop is thick enough.

Alright fluke master your the man and I started bass fishing again this spring after a divorce after 20 years, thank god I can fish again. Lol. So far I bought mostly mid grade lews reels and duckett rods and I am pretty impressed. But tonight I seen a 13 fishing concept a 8.1.1 ratio on sale for $175.00. So I had to get it, I paired it with a st. Croix 7 foot medium heavy fast action. My first question is how do I adjust the braking system inside the reel because all my lews just had a numbered piece on the outside you turned so do I even mess with that or what? Second question what would you use this setup for? Man I apprecitte any tips you can give, inside my 13 fishing box there's really no instructions on how to adjust that
