I seeing this video for the frist time 4 years late. I knew Ryan and would take him fishing from time to time he actually wanted to buy a boat I had at one time. It broke my heart when he lost his life to his demons I agree with Gene Ryan was the most naturally gifted fisherman I was ever around he was a really good kid and is still missed by everyone

Man, I've watched maybe 12 of your video's Gene. I ran across your sharting one where you gassed him out which led me to watch his story and then this farewell video. I'm glad you were able to spend time with him and touch so many. The comments really touched me. Ryan cannot be objectified as an addict. He was a caring man and great fishman. He was talented, and easy to connect with in how he approached you. Three videos and I miss a man I never met. Rest well, cause Gene's going to work you hard when he joins you up there.

Gary B I feel the same way I just lost my sister to this horrible disease and I told Ryan about it and he responded when they were doing a livestream he said he was sorry and he wasn't going to use again but so did my sister she was clean 4 years with a kid who's father also died from an overdose. It's just a terrible drug

hotwing killa I feel the same way. I also am trying to kick a pain pill addiction. I'm currently in methadone treatment. I've been pill free for along time now next stage is to wing off this methadone. I never knew I could get addicted to anything. I had a surgery on my foot then tried to stop taking the pain medication and got sick as a dog. I got really scared to feel that way again so I kept taking now I've been at the clinic for about a year. I just need to be able to not take anything and not be sick so I can have my life and money back!!

Gene, in your last video you said Ryan was the most naturally talented angler you'd ever seen, I could definitely see why you said that. It was amazing hearing him speak with all of that knowledge to be so young! Your channel has always been my favorite and I can honestly say I enjoyed it even more when Ryan came along. I'm deeply saddened for all of us, especially for Ryan's family and yourself. I am glad we got to see him and his talents for as long as we did. Hang in there buddy.

I'm so sorry to hear this man. I remember joining bass resource and meeting you guys at the Lay Lake classic. He was so charismatic. I remember watching yall's youtube vids with spro frogs around cypress trees back then as well. I looked up to y'all when I was just getting big into bass fishing. I'm extremely sorry for your loss man. As an ER nurse, I've seen a major increase in heroin overdoses recently. Thank you for bringing awareness to heroin addiction and attempting to clear up the stigma involved in people who are addicted. I know this is hard on you man, and I will be praying for you and his family. RIP Ryan.
