It's nice knowing that my next encounter with these lights (in roughly 50,000 hrs) will quickly be resolved with a new bulb...and nothing else. Fast and simple. Thanks for dropping me a line, James.

You could save a lot of wire by just daisy chaining the sockets on both sides only having 1 long length of wire coming from both sides to connect to the hot or neutral wire.

To add less connection/wires means there’s less ways it can fail.

I ran into an issue while doing this...I had purchased GE type B, Daylight 5600, "Replacement", and found out they did not work, but the GE type B, Daylight 5600, DIRECT WIRE, is what i needed....is this important info needed? the boxes look so similar I did not notice it until the one did not work..

Tubes and Ballasts should always be renewed together. 2ndly LED tubes do flicker and this can be lessened by having many LED tubes and or as many LEDs / metre . slightly counter intuitive

There's a good practice (new bulb + new ballast). You are correct about the flicker (60Hz AC electricity), but it's only noticeable on camera when playback speed is increased (fast-forward). Other than that, not a noticeable issue (for camera or human eye) when using these particular LED tubes. To be clear, the flicker I was talking about in the video, was regarding a very noticeable (to the human eye) flicker that occurred intermittently (light on for numerous seconds, then light off for a half a second...then back on)(fluorescent bulb/ballast failing). Thanks for watching, and dropping me a line.

@@SouthpawAutoworks love watching, you inspire. With LED and if using a dimmer, you may know this already but lower light just means the LEDs don't stay fully on as much and the strobing gets more obvious especially when turning you head around quick. but having at around 80% of fully on will extend the life of the tubes alot. With all those tubes on full, it'll be like mid summer outdoors so you could quite easily do it that way.

So timely. I replaced the fluorescent lights in my closet based on this video. Have considered a Wago instead of a wire nut? Any thoughts on whether it makes sense?

Right on! I have never used a Wago. From what I understand, they have some very nice safety features. Sounds like a great upgrade.

You mentioned a "kit" I see lots of links in the description, but none that are called a "kit" . Is it just the bulbs that come with labels?

My apologies for the confusion. Yes, just the bulbs and labels.

I am trying to decide on color temperature of the lights, 4100k or 5000k? Which is better hor a at home shop? I am leaning toward the double ended tubes like you used, more connections but simpler than single ended tubes. In the past I have twisted the wires and wrapping wie nuts with electrical tape. Considering using Wagos this time, might be a better way to connect 5 small wires or 4 small ones and 1 #12.

It just comes down to preference... I decided to go with the 5000K bulbs. But, I have my reasons, which are a bit unique. For some of the footage filmed in this space, I use dedicated "video lights" (they offer more control). Those lights happen to be 5500K. So, I am aiming to get all of my lighting to match (or at least as close as possible), for my own purposes. But, once again, it just comes down to preference. Wire Nuts: I've only ever used wire nuts/tape, but have looked at the Wagos, and am interested in giving those a go. If you decide to use them, it would be cool to hear your thoughts about them.
