Another well produced vid Eric and looks like a super trip. Lots of that water looks awesome for a little trout Spey! Catch ‘em on the swing!

You know, the same thought crossed my mind. That would probably make other anglers turn their heads haha.

That’s sweet! Where’s a good spot up here in Shasta county to go trout fishing this time of year? Got my fly rod and reel ready to go but only place I been and had luck was McCloud lower falls.

Oh my gosh that drone shot at 10:30 is insane. Beautiful day on the water and nice to see your wife out there with you :)

Haha that triple braded section was pretty rad, but sadly it cliffed us out at the top.

Love your video! I haven’t gotten out trout fishing in a minute and this video makes me miss it even more (I can’t drive yet so I can’t just get up and fish like I want to). That last fish had some gorgeous markings, almost like a coastal cutthroat.
@driftstone10 ай бұрын
I've been told these fish are all rainbows, but I've caught a few that I swear were cutts. Having just a few spots near the tail and the cutt marks on the jaw.
@thecalfisher10 ай бұрын
Yeah I know they are all rainbows but maybe the cutt markings are from past hatchery fish that interbred with the native fish. Hatchery rainbows were a weird mix of cutthroat and rainbows. @@driftstone

What are the ideal flows for the upper Sacramento in the winter below Dunsmuir?
@driftstone9 ай бұрын
It's hard to say since the gauge is down at the bottom. That said, I'd go fish any time a day or so after the flows have settled down. Dunsmuir doesn't fluctuate as much as the bottom, but even on a high water day there are opportunities to catch fish in the soft water on the edges.
