Great that you showed the reality of "one those days". I was at Sharpley same time and it was difficult, I wonder if the sudden change in air temp put them off. Ian told me that the 3 guys who braved Malik the day before did well!!

There is changes going on. Summer was so different. And this winter is turning out to be the same. Climate is without doubt something to do with it. I have blanked twice now on a water that I have only blanked once in 28 years. Out yesterday was pulling fish in the top 4' of water with a fast retrieve. 15 mins later the fish could only be caught on the bottom with a slow retrieve. But we are having long periods of the fish just totally switching off. Like going to sleep. Ringing around and talking to others and the experience is very similar on other waters. The first hour in the morning seems most productive. And those fish on the top. Well they are tricky. Fisherman's curse. Glad to see these video's, as a lot of people think we catch fish at will. Just because we have a channel. We are no different. Great stuff my mate. Take care. Shaun. Oh if I do one with no fish I don't want you to think I am copying. Aye it's odd Shaun. Just didn't feel right but, I gave it my all and enjoyed my day a fish would have just been bonus. I think it is important so show both sides of a days fly fishing. To presume a fish will be caught is a foolish trap. I want to be honest and share my day. I hope you don't have to post a blank video bud!! Look forward to your next one 👍👍

We all have blanks I guess... that brown trout you showed lying still in the water probably reflects what all the fish were doing - air pressure can cause them to lie on the bottom and not feed at all - looks like one of those days... Enjoyable video nonetheless. Cheers!

Hi Mark, yeah it was a tough one. It actually turned out the fish were holding in the deeper water in the middle of the lake. The fishery has one boat and the chap managed a few out.

Yeah I was there on Friday 28th The fishing was tough then as well Caught 2 on pink apps bloodworm fished deep and slow, gave up after 3 hours due to strong wind Sometimes you just get those awful days when the fish are off the feed. A very enjoyable video nevertheless.

Hi mate nice vid pity the trout didnt want to play the game happens to us all .. if you fish the windy corners keep a couple of size 14 or 16 hares ear shell back shrimps handy tend to work well when wind is howling .. tight lines mate

That was me on the boat that day, I landed 6 but they were on the bottom all day mate. It would have been hard to get any from the bank that day as the fish tended to be in the deeper water. Anyway there is always next time 😁

Good video hard going.do you think its high air pressure keeping the trout from biting?i know if it was too high it would make my bass fishing terrible.im new to fly fishing and dont know the etiquette but a stick of dynamite wouldnt have gone amiss

Is that a sage rod your using if so how good is it?

Hi Trevor. Its a Sage Pulse 10ft 7#. Personally I love it. It's a medium fast action rod. If you like to feel the cast this is a great choice. Very light but very strong when playing fish. I would describe it as an all round fishing rod. 👍

@@trevorluft1763 in Honesty, not the best in a strong headwind. I have the Sage Sonic for that which is a casting beast at 9ft 6 for a #7. Might be worth a look at too 👍
