Just adding a comment after comming back from fishing this specific creek, and let me tell you, they must have had the gates open on the lake today because it was deep and just about everything was floating down, i had to bail out walking in the water because it just got to much, not to mention the fishing was terrible. Ill say now, i wish i watched this earlier as i was trying to throw a streamer or euro nymph my way up and it just wasnt working. Either way, its good to see something that works on it.

Yes, the Tulpehocken is fed by the damn release on Blue Marsh Lake. It’s important to check the gauges before fishing. Can be great fishing in the right conditions, especially after stockings.

They did stock, the state put all browns in. It was float stocked and bucket stocked in the special regs areas only.

Chris Dolla I thought they put rainbows in during the October stocking. At least that's what the fish commission website says.
@vaughnmiller61147 жыл бұрын
The fall stocking was the lower half of the Delayed Harvest section, from Rebers brigde down to the covered bridge.

Vaughn Miller you know, I think I got mixed up after reading about how in 2018 they are designating the entire DHALO to Keystone Select. You been catching any good ones on the Tully this fall?
@vaughnmiller61147 жыл бұрын
Yeah, though I've only fished it a handful of times this fall. The Palisades flat is my preferred spot, I can usually find some rising fish there if water conditions are right.

Vaughn Miller I was surprised how low the water was last weekend. I have to believe the state didn't put a large number of fish in during the fall stocking, but maybe I'm wrong.

They stocked a lot in my area up north

SOFTAIL X up on the Tunkhannock and Harvey's?
@SOFTAILX7 жыл бұрын
Yes. Harvey's they did from that dam all the way down. Tunk I only hit the ball park and caught a bunch.

Frankie Shoenfelt thanks Frankie, fly fishing in the fall is such a different experience from the spring months.

Awesome, love the Tully. I always do best on the keystone selects from the cacoosing down just below the 222 overpass.

Thanks for all the videos Mike. I can wait to get out and explore some of those waters you've hit this year. I'm hoping to get into PA and NY next year sometime.

Great video. Is that Orvis Safe Passage pack a Guide Series or is it the regular size sling pack?
@Tightlinenation7 жыл бұрын
Really disappointed on the size. Of the keystone select stream. They bill it as catch and release and bigger trout. Nope thought they were average stockies. You filming however was great. I'm headed north to Ptown lol
@paullydon2226 жыл бұрын
The fish in the video were not keystone select fish. There are plenty of 20"+ fish in the Tully from those stockings.

@@paullydon222 Im just joking. your not spot burning or anything. The secrets out on the tully. Love that stream even though it can get crowded. Reliable fishing in the most of the hotter months.

@@jimmyx38 It's been my home stream for years and the last couple years have been great other than the flows this last year. Hopefully we don't see so much rain this year.

SOFTAIL X not much done anymore. most streams i fished got the fall stocking cut totally. its a shame fishing all year was great now ur better off staying home in most stocked waters around me. gets cleaned out by may

Winter often the best time to fish. Less pressure... Most streams all by yourself. Streamers and nymph fishing is at its Best.. Stick with it. Bud...
@bigpapi36367 жыл бұрын
Very entertaining Mike. Do you guys ever use egg patterns or mop flies in your area for stockers? I hate to admit it but I've been known to put one of those "power worms" on as a "fly". Works great for stockers here in CA and egg patterns work great as well especially with a squirt of attractant. Probably against the rules of fly fishing but very effective. Great day on the water, congratulations!

Tell you what. That stream is beautiful. The jump from the fish at the halfway mark was cool and the brown was gorgeous.. when I used to fly Fish the beadhead pheasant tail was my go to nymph
