FLY FISHING THE DRIFTLESS AREA: HIS FIRST TIME FISHING HERE! (Paint, Waterloo, & Clear Creek Iowa)

Even though the fishing was tough.. I could not have had much more fun spending the day out on the Driftless with my Bro in Law! Kolter has been learning to fly fish ever since he became apart of the family(it is kind of a requirement at this point) ! It is so cool to see how much better he's gotten in such a short time! His cast was looking crisp and clean but it seemed like all the trout in Allamakee County took the weekend off! On a real not its too bad he came when he did.. This has been such a strange Fall here in the Driftless Region!! With the massive temperature swings and lack of rain.. It has made for some really rough days! Regardless, the creek side conversations about life more than made up for the lack of fish! I cannot wait until the next time we get to hit the water and get on some fish!!

Thanks for the video. Great job casting in the wind like that and persevering. Have you fished the Upper Iowa River and taken video? It’s my 4th year fishing the driftless and this is my new favorite spot. There are heavy fish in there. Several trout streams flow into it. It’s basically Valhalla for trout😂

Man I wish I was closer to the drifltess. About 4-6 hours (suburban chicago) depending on which part I go to. Keep it going into the winter, brother. Gives me something to watch during the winter.
