G'Day Robert. I always enjoy your videos and hope to fish some of the Northern rivers in the future. . By the way, many congratulations on your superb book - The North Country Fly which I often refer to. As a Bamboo Rod Maker, I'm curious about your comments about the Garrison 206. The Garrison 206 taper is 7'6' so is your 8 footer rod based on the 206 or a different Garrison taper such as the 212?

My Garrison is based on the 206 taper. We extended its length to 8ft by swelling and somewhat stiffening up the butt section, but it still has that signature Garrison feel. It is rated for a 4-weight line, but I’ve found it needs a line that’s a few grains heavier to bring out its best. I match it up with a 4 weight Phoenix Silk line or a 4 weight Wulff Bamboo Special which both make it sing!

I very much enjoy your videos, both the fly tying and fishing versions. When you fish multiple spiders, do you tie them on using dropper tags? What type of leader do you typically use? Again, thanks much for the wonderful videos. Kind regards and best wishes!

I whip finish a small loop of 20lb mono to the end of the line. Keeping the loop as small as possible.
