Thank you Mak. A nice simple pattern - and very often simple is best. I had to smile at your use of paintbrush fibers, I use them as well. It is amazing what household items can be used for flies - an old vinyl tablecloth makes miles of scud back strips. I like your comment when you added red bars to the tail "just for no reason" :-) Cheers and tight lines Mak. Hank

A very nice looking pattern Mak. I'm going to tie some up this morning and also try some with a gold beadhead, using split-thread dubbing behind the bead for a thorax.... to fish the faster water. I think both should fish very well here in Western North Carolina! Cheers! KH

Thank you Kevin, great idea with the Beadhead, give it a try, it should work , I am glad you like the video Cheers Mak

Nice easy pattern. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I think we make our flies so complicated because we need them to look more like the real thing than the fish does. Amazing how the simple patterns can be just as effective. All the best, Sean

Thank you Sean,, I totally agree, the simpler is the better, I will try to upload simple methods on & off, thank you for the nice comment Regards Mak

hi was wondering i am trying to tye Buzzers but seems i always never get a nice tAPER TO the body i must be not tying in the rib corectly i see some guys counter wrap the rib? what do you suggest?> what i mean is seems clumpy at the end when im to finish with the rib..
@Makflies6 жыл бұрын
Hi luker time,, Thank you for your email. 1st , if you want to get taper , start below the eye as usual ,go half way then come back where you start, catch the Ribbing go all the way to the bend , stop where you want the body length , come back to the eye ( Starting point ) , and wrap the ribs , see how you get on,

This is a very good looking fly that ought to catch fish on river's like the Madison. Kelly Galloup, the owner of Slide Inn, has a similar fly ( www.caddisflyshop.com/galloups-peacock-hares-ear.html ). The main differences are that Kelly uses peacock herl for a wing case and Hungarian Partridge fibers for the tail. But the thin and scruffy body, I believe, make your fly and Kelly's winners. ( I caught lots of fish on Kelly's version in the past. ) I also used a light rusty brown version and it did well. Your fly is simpler to tie ( no wing case ), so I'll tie some up for the Summer. Thanks for posting.
