It’s fun watching how easy, Mak makes tying look... after watching his videos, I’ll go the the bench and sometimes tie flies that look like I tied them with my feet... winding up looking like a hairy big toe musky streamer that was supposed to be a blue winged olive. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks Mak!

Nice fly Mak. I like this style. And nicely tied. Thank you for another one..... ps...... I have trouble with quill but don’t particularly like the synthetic quill material. I saw somewhere where it was suggested that you soak the quill for a while to help stopping it break so easily. Do you do this dude?
@Makflies5 жыл бұрын
Thank you El, I am glad you like this Pattern, As for the Quill I did mentioned in one of my previous Video that if you Soak the Quill in you Mouth Saliva, leave for a 30 second or bit more you can strip it easier, but that is my idea try it and see what you think :))

Hi, Could you give me the reason for using hot spots and if using holographic, for example mylar tinsel on fly model on the back of the body, or other flash materials. Does increase the number of strikes? On the other hand, does this work on all species of trout or is it only suitable for rainbow trout? Could you provide me some published article about this subject? Thank you
@Makflies5 жыл бұрын
Big water conditions like stillwaters or large food rich tailwaters scream for the use of hot spots in order to gain the attention of the fish. Often a hot spot fly will attract attention, perhaps the fish turns off only to take one of the other flies in your cast. Basically you can catch Brown Trout as well as Rainbow, Regards Mak
