I started a KZbin channel a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t any gear but I’ve got the flies. Since I’m largely self taught I do take recipes and modify/improve them. Like Reed Palmers “Happy Hooker” MMM in size 2. Mine is the “Bloodline MM” usually size 6 and 8. The fly has caught innumerable big trout on the Missouri River north of my former office at the Montana DOT. All I can do is learn from you so keep it up because I memorize instantly. And the patterns you taught have caught fish for me I didn’t hold out much hope for. Thanks for inspiring me and leading the way in fly tying. Hands down the most perfect examples of any fishing fly have come from your kind gift to your brethren who swing streamers and puff no 18’s into a far off beaver dam in search of good eating. THANKS FOR THE LIKE AND THE INSTRUCTION. You’re the best Mr McPhail. ABY

It’s a fact that I do tend to veer towards the old patterns, but this one does look nice. I’ll definitely have to give this a go. I too look out for bits of packing paper and shiny stuff that (cut into thin strips) might work so snap! Thanks Davie.

Very nice Davie! I use the anti-static bag strip on a lot of my flies - I think that the bluish sheen on the material looks more like trapped gas in a nymph skin or an air bubble on a boatman than regular silver does. The fish like it, and that is more important than my speculations. Thanks for posting. ATB! Hank

Davy, I love the fly. Any tips on getting the strips cut so evenly? Cheers
@DavieMcPhail5 жыл бұрын
Hi Piscator Flies, I lay it on a cutting mat and cut it using a Stanley blade guiding it with a roller...I'm glad you love the fly, it is a good fly to have in your box... All the very best Davie...

Hello Davie, I have a tons of this sh*t, and now I can do something useful out of it:)! I want to note that there are packages of different shades. And what do you think about an over wings for bugs made of such material? Many thanks for such a great idea!
@DavieMcPhail5 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, It's definitely worth trying this material on your bugs as it does catch the light really well..I'm glad you liked the fly and let me know how you get on.. All the very best Davie...

Davie, do you fish with this pattern as a dropper, right? Do you use it in an special combo?
@DavieMcPhail5 жыл бұрын
Hi Fly Life, I like to fish this fly on the middle or top dropper with a midge pupa on the point though it can be fished anywhere on the cast as it's a good pattern and colour combination... All the very best Davie...

What is and where can I find anti static bags
@DavieMcPhail5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dennis, If you do a search online like Ebay you will find lots of ant-static packets/bags for very little money, they are used to protect computer parts from static which can destroy them.. All the very best Davie..

Or, you can go to a computer shop and they will give you tons for free usually
