I swear - if that big 'bow had come unbuttoned while you were trying to land him at the 1:01:50 mark, I would have jumped into my laptop screen and had a hissy fit! You had me on edge there! Thanks for another great presentation. I'll have to return to the Teton again now.

Absolutely my favorite river system. Growing up 15 minutes from the river made it easy to take these spots for granted. Videos like this remind me what a treasure this area is. Great video, tight lines!

Brings back some great memories with my cousins in Menan and Rexburg who first took me in there. In the 50's, 60's and 70's it was really wild, and plenty of snakes. Sadly my cousins have passed but the memories will live on.

A great video--thank you. I never thought I would see these same runs, cliffs and boulders again, but this is just great. Very nostalgic, almost too much emotionally, remembering trips in with friends and family, now all have passed on. I'd need a helicopter to get me in there now. took a few bad falls but never seriously hurt, few bumps and bruises. Fantastic fishing with many in the 3 to 6 pound range. Wets, dries, streamers, didn't seem to matter.

I sure miss that area and its views as well as fishing. I moved from Rexburg in September and I’ll never forget the few precious years I had there. I learned to fly fish there on the Teton and Henry’s fork along with a half dozen other rivers in the area. I know where I want to retire for sure! Not to mention a fishing vacation at least once a year! I can’t wait to teach my kid the area and the love of not only fly fishing but just the outdoors. Thanks for making these videos Mike!❤

Super conflicted by your video… Great stuff but seriously, sometimes great locations are still great because of their limited exposure. I understand your need to produce great content but some gems are only still gems because people choose to keep them that way. Over the past 5 years the traffic has steadily increased on the Teton and this doesn’t help 🤷

As far as them stocking rainbows in the Teton, all the fish they stock are sterile so they can’t breed. They are stocked to give anglers more to catch and you can actually find some with tags with cash prizes. Also they have no limit on the rainbows or cutbows in the summer on the Teton and encourage anglers to harvest the cutbows to get them out of the system.

I understand trying to serve the public, but it seems to work against the health of the river.

Great episode as usual Mike ! What brand of snake gaiter do you like? My wife is deathly afraid of snakes and almost stepped on one on a trip to Pennsylvania a few years ago. We will be traveling and fishing the west starting next year in retirement. Here in Maine we don’t worry about snakes.
@FLYALLSZN5 күн бұрын
They certainly keep you on your toes out there! One bite and you’re toast!

@ Do you suggest a certain thickness of gaiter? So many options I’ve seen.
@zachcragoe5 күн бұрын
@@biggarfishI would go with something like the Listo Brush Cruisers or Turtleskin. Not all gaiters (sitka & kuiu) are snake rated. If you have a dog, a rattlesnake avoidance class goes a long way as well. My dog will point them out before we get within 10 feet!

What is your goal of naming and promoting the fisheries that you are fishing? My concern with their promotion is increased pressure, which is harmful to the fisheries themselves as well as decreasing the quality of the fishing of those who are familiar with said fisheries. I am not promoting complete gate keeping, but your geotagging/promotion of fisheries to the entire internet I think is a net negative to our limited resources. It takes time and effort to find special places, they are special due to the fact that they require time and effort for people to find. I don't take issue with there being videos of people fishing and the story telling of those experiences, but I question the morality of promotion and geotagging of specific fisheries in order to gain popularity for your channel to make money via partnerships and views. You are selling out the quality of our limited resources as well as the future health of those resources for your own personal gain I see you are active in your replies to comments, please educate me otherwise

It’s an issue I could ramble about for hours on end. This comment section is the last place I’d like to “educate” you. Find me on instagram, shoot me a dm, and we can get a call scheduled. I’d love to actually talk to you about “your” resource and “geotagging” places that can be found with extremely simple internet search skills. Thank you for the comment.
@FlyFellaLad4 күн бұрын
@@FLYALLSZN I never claimed the resource is mine. My main concern is for the health of the resource/fishery itself. There is a clear difference between someone researching places to fish and an advertisement calling others to fish a specific fishery that one may never have heard of promoted in their KZbin recommendations. The simple question: what is your goal of naming and promoting the fisheries that you are fishing? Edit: thanks for the response
@FLYALLSZN4 күн бұрын
Reach out like I said and I’ll happily explain.

@@FLYALLSZN I appreciate the engagement, and understand the time and effort that goes into producing your videos. I don't understand why you can publicly name and geotag the fisheries, promoting them to people who may not have heard of said fisheries, but cannot publicly explain your goal in naming and promoting said fisheries.
@FLYALLSZN4 күн бұрын
Watch enough of my videos and it’s very public or stop watching them and your problem disappears. A call will give you the answer you probably don’t want to hear. Reach out and I’ll gladly give you an hour+ answer to this not so simple question.

I so enjoy these long form videos here. I watched the @SinaDrums "Reimagining of Tommy" earlier today. It was a stunningly great performance by talented musicians. At the end, she thanked us for devoting more time than it takes to watch a TikTok video. I say THANK YOU for swimming upstream.
