We visit regularly with our dogs, there are also great walks at Dinas Rock and swrd gwadlys, easy walks with an amaing waterfall, also open cylicer mines on the way, there is also an amazing dog friendly pub in Pontnedfechan, The Old White Horse, great value and is bordering fine dining x

Its impressive after heavy rain, used to go exploring there as a young boy many years ago, above the falls there is a crevice where you can climb down just before the drop, was a great place to hide from your friends!

Hello from the States. Came here after watching the driving in Wales video. Enjoy all of your videos, especially the ones walking thru the woods showcasing the beauty and serenity of the Wales countryside, even if the weather is a bit overcast and wet. And exploring castles and country pubs. I see that this video is over 2 years posted and you haven’t changed it bit. Going thru your catalog of videos to make sure I didn’t miss any other gems like this one. Stay safe and be well.

Thanks for watching the old videos, I started doing the local stuff when we weren't able to travel. I was amazed how many of these beautiful places are overlooked. Thanks again for watching, have you seen the "Waterfalls and Gunpowder" video from the same area?

What a beautiful sight. I would love taking a hike like that---minus the tumble and camera falls of course. Now you can think of Melincourt Falls as Camera Falls. Snarky aren't I. It is interesting hearing the ironworks existed from 1708-1808. Brits were running out of forests for making charcoal and were importing iron from Sweden and the USA and probably Wales. It does look like Jurassic Park.

It is a beautiful location, it was my fault for falling, I should have packed away the camera and not walk carrying it on the tripod. This valley was also famous tin making and nearby Swansea was the centre for copper smelting (50% of the world output of smelted copper in the 1800s came from Wales). The reason wasn't the ore but the abundance of coal in the Welsh valleys.

Thank you for sharing another gem of a location. I really do enjoy your videos - Wales is so beautiful as are the people. Incidentally, I am not overly fond of crowds of people. I am amazed at the lack of people that are at these wonderful places you take us to. Which day of the week do you tend to shoot your videos?

Thanks for watching, I normally get a day free during the week. This was Wednesday but the days vary. Previously, we were there on a Saturday and it was still quiet.

Great video. In Neath Abbey (the village) we have the Neath Abbey Ironworks where I'm a volunteer with helping to look after the site and you also then have a tiny little valley known as The Cwm going up from where the Ironworks is. In that valley there are the ruins of the Ironworks cottages, the ruins of the old mill and two small Waterfalls. Further up the river Clydach from the Cwm is also the large stone Ironworks Dam. Of course there is also the Abbey and it's Gate house within a 5 min walk of the Ironworks too. You'd be welcome to come to the Ironworks site and have a look around the site.

Thanks for watching. I did visit the ironworks last summer, I walked a short distance down the valley past the ironworks and ending up at the Abbey itself.kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmK0g4eOm7qYi8k If there is ever a local group or expert doing a walk around the place I would be up to revisit and find out more.

@@flydriveexplore I hadn't realised you'd been to the Ironworks. There are open days on occasion where we have an expert historian doing a tour, but us volunteers are there every Sunday (weather permitting) from 1pm to 4pm, and can show you around and give you some information on the site. We also have information boards at the site now as well (not sure if we had them up by the time you last visited).
