I had the pleasure over his time in Philadelphia, of meeting Mr. Lindros face to face multiple times around town at different events. To say he is a quality individual is an understatement. The best way I can describe him is something my grandmother used to say when she met people and had a good first impression. Eric Lindros is good people. God Bless him and his family.

The Big E brought so many epic memories to us Philly fans over the years. From his thunderous check crushing opponents into the boards rattling the Spectrum and First Union Center to his many goals and assists and a quite a few great fights too. He could do it all. Watching the most dominant player also fight and hold his own against HWs like Chris Simon and Marty McSorley was really something. Will never forget watching him manhandle the Rangers Jeff Beukeboom as if he was a small guy and he wasn’t. Lindros was a beast in his day but that style of play catches up with everyone sadly.

The talent level isnt beter today than in Lindros' time or Gretzky's time or Howe's time. Lindros has to be polite and say that, but trust me, Howe and Gretzky and Lindros would absolutely dominate in today's game. They would outshine everyone. In baseball, Babe Ruth would still be the best even today. Stars are special for a reason.
@theterrar35665 жыл бұрын
Not sure about Howe or Ruth but Lindros would absolutely dominate today's NHL.
@stpierreorama5 жыл бұрын
The talent level is far superior today. The gap in skill level amongst the players is slimmer than ever. The training and nutrition science has gotten much better. I'm sure the star players like Howe or gretzky would adapt if they were in today's era but there is no way in hell they would be as dominant as they were in their day. The players today are too good to let anybody shine that bright. Think if it this way, can you imagine crosby, mcdavid, or ovetchkin playing in Gordie Howes era!? They would embarrass the whole league.
@PS-gr5wh5 жыл бұрын
@Beatle Toons as someone that was not a fan of Lindros, mostly cause he was a baby b!tch...I have to say Lindros was not a dirty player. He was a hitter and laid people out but all within the rules. @chizorama3 жыл бұрын
@Beatle Toons Awe, physical hockey obviously offends your tender feelings. The thing that's watered down this sport is that the league accommodates them. Maybe try watching baseball or soccer.

It's unfortunate Bobby Clarke & Eric Lindros had a big ass falling out with all the Hockey Dr's Concussions issues he had especially when Scott Stevens basically ended his career in the playoffs when my Flyers were up 3 games to 1 vs. Devs & still choked again in the championship playoff round in order to get to the Lord Stanley's Cup finals! Eventhough when he recovered, he wasn't the same after that when he went to Rangers, Maple Leafs & Stars, he had a mean streak when he changed his style of game, but unfortunately he didn't take us to the Stanley Cup Promised Land that he promised us Flyer fans when he was crying @ the ESPY's Award for best sportsmanship! Too fucking bad, it made me pissed-off, just like when they traded away Mike Richards & Jeff Carter!
@dragonlips20056 жыл бұрын
Stevens ended his career as a Flyer. He still had some productive years with the Rags and the Leafs. He did take us to the Finals, but one guy doesn't make a team. Clarke didn't know how to build a winning team. C'mon, Hextall was letting in back-breaking goals from the parking lot. He was washed up. Aside of Dejardians, who did they have back on D? Mcgillis? Dykhuis? These guys were terrible. It's a team sports. The record shows Lindros did his part in making them a viable contender. Can't say that about the rest of them.
