These gym teams have creative themes. Morty, for example, has Snorlax, Sudowoodo, Kecleon, and Psyduck. Those are the pokemon that block your path in gen 1-4. Kinda thematic that that's the team to block Flygon's path too.

Having another person change the leader's teams so that it's not fully random is such an interesting idea. I do see that it can be a bit unbalanced potentially, as with snorlax lol. Fun video either way. Anyway, I would like to once again recommend a no stab moves / bluntmons run of Black / White. September 28th is officially one year since the last no stab moves run in Firered, so I think it would be cool to finally return to the challenge. I'll also recommend adding an extra rule that you have to fight all optional trainers before each gym level cap, which is what I did and I think for this challenge it helps make it even more fun and challenging.

26:10 My buddy and I are going through a Randomized Nuzlocke in LeafGreen, and we encountered Registeel and Regirock during trainer battles. Because we weren't looking up the move lists of the various 'mons we were encountering, we were completely blind sided by Registeel exploding on us (as it's a starting move, and we were facing trainers in their teens and 20s).
