2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each route
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's ace (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Special Rules:
7. A Pokémon's moves may not be changed at any time.
8. HMs are an except, but cannot be used in battle.

He’s done something similar where he wasn’t allowed to heal at all (no items, pokecenters or boxes) in Emerald, which meant he couldn’t restore PP on moves either.

Not sure how well that would work. I think this generation is the one where overwriting moves doesn't restore PP, so he would effectively need to throw out the Pokemon completely when it ran out of PP. Not sure if I'm thinking of gen 5 tho

I looked through my old screenshots of my first ever game (Pearl) and dawggg how did I break through Cynthia using such superstars such as WEAKFIRST the level 39 Gyarados rocking Waterfall, Strength, Hail, and Roar and FIRE the Infernape with Solar Beam, Rock Climb, Earthquake and Flamethrower. MIND YOU this is their movesets *after* I had to fix them with the TMs I had left nearly 10 years after I got the game as a kid, because as a kid I couldn't beat Lucien.

In all fairness, Frosslass' physical movepool options were pretty garbage until Sword/Shield. No physical ghost STAB but Astonish before then, and its best physical ice STAB was Ice Punch, since it wasn't capable of learning Icicle Crash until then and Triple Axel didn't exist until that same generation.

I never thought I would see this kind of challenge done as a Nuzlocke but you're always trying new things so I really shouldn't have been surprised. It's super unfortunate that you made it all the way to the end with 0 deaths and Cynthia denied you your deathless run but you still played very well. Anyway, I would like to once again recommend a no stab moves run of Black / White like I usually do on each video. I also recommend adding a rule to fight every trainer available before the next level cap because it increases the challenge of the run.

Love the videos flygon and the funny, creative commentary. I have 2 ideas for future nuzlockes. 1 could be a nuzlocke where 1 death equals 1 level under the level cap and it carries over into all the gyms and elite 4. So if you have 2 deaths and the cap is lvl. 21 then you're going in with a team of lvl. 19 pokemon. Another one I had was a nuzlocke with a limited number of evolutions. Your pokemon can evolve only a certain amount of times throughout the run. This means delaying evolutions and possibly encounters to catch the middle or last stage pokemon later in the game, otherwise you can be stuck with first stage pokemon on your team.

@@icedtea241 in SV when you try to teach a mon a new move (by TM and/or learnset), you can ask the mon if they want to learn the new move, where they will randomly pick to replace one of the older moves or not learn the move. I don't know the algorithm for it.
