Well... it's finally time to try another randomizer hardcore nuzlocke! With Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire giving us access to over 700 Pokemon, this should be a CRAZY experience. But... we're also going to randomize opponent Pokemon, items, and abilities for an extra challenge!
We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only random encounters? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Omega Ruby Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Random Pokemon? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

You gotta catch up on Uproar mechanics 'XD When a Pokémon is Uproaring and you try to put it to sleep, it fails. And if a Pokémon is Uproaring WHILE a Pokémon is asleep, sleep will be cured. Simply put, if there's a stomping, raging, screaming beast around, you can't take a nap lol

18:35 Rototiller is a very strange move with a stranger history. In gen 6, when the move was introduced, 7 pokemon could learn it by level up, all of them at level 1, and all of them being later stage evolution pokemon, so they can't actually get the move without a move relearner. There were also 6 other pokemon lines that could get the move through breeding, but the only new pokemon from gen 6 that could learn the move was Diggersby. In gen 7, Mudbray could learn it at level 8 (aswell as Mudsdale), and Tap Bulu and Alolan Dugtrio. Finally being added to some pokemon! Gen 8, gone. Can't select the move if you traded a pokemon forward. Same with gen 9. The hardly used move is forgotten. This is a contender for the least known move in pokemon history. Also, incase you missed it, what it does is raise the Attack and Special Attack of grass type pokemon that are on the field, by one stage. It is a ground type move, and won't work for or against pokemon that are underground or flying in the sky or as flying types (screw you, tropius). Work up for grass types only, but you might be able to use it on an ally and yourself in double battles, at the risk of giving it to the opponent in all battles. By the way, the move can only be learned by 3 grass types total, only 2 in gen 6, Cacturne and Parasect, who both need to get it through breeding. This move could also be used in Super Mystery Dungeon, and was used once in the manga. Such a weird, strange move. I have never seen anything like it. I have never seen anyone use it.

In the future maybe you can force full evolutions after like level 36 and/or randomize with Pokémon of similar strength. That way the Elite Four and such get something a bit more threatening than a Patrat 😅 Still a fun randomizer run to watch, especially the insane (bad) luck at the beginning!

This was a welcome surprise. Nice to see Silph tackle ORAS on for a run. Considering the kind of run this was, i guess it makes sense why he went with the remakes over the originals like usual. Overall a fun run. Funny how this run began as a mess of bad luck but ultimately ended with a pretty capable and excellent team. That Venusaur with Drought with Mega Charizard Y was just too good.

Well, silf, you proceed to not disappoint me. Your editing is getting great, and thank you for commentating over a lot of the things you do. For 14:15, Uproar woke the opposing trainer's pokemon up because that's how that move functions. It doesn't only prevent your pokemon from being put to sleep while ongoing (as in the user that activates the move), it also turn 1 wakes up any pokemon being hit by that move, as long as they don't have soundproof (which would make the move fail). The correct choice was to go for Echoed Voice, which doesn't wake up other pokemon they hit with that move. This would happen either before they make the move or at the end of the turn (if Noctowl was slower)
