Flyhawk 1/700 HMS Hood Unbox Review

Thanks for the preview! Question: do the painting instructions show the bottom as being GREY? Our research (the group of folks who provided Flyhawk information/details for this kit) has shown that Hood almost certainly never had a red bottom (the area below the black waterline stripe/boot topping). The painting reports (and wreck) indicate this area was grey. Unfortunately, we didn’t get that info to Flyhawk until very late in final development. I do hope it’s in there and that modellers see/understand it and don’t reach for the red paint automatically, LOL.

Thanks for that info! I didn't pay too much attention to that until now, but the instruction 7:17 does show xf-75 (medium dark grey), it even has a little note on the left side page said that, so i guess flyhawk did listen! To be honest i'd probably went for hull red if it wasn't for your comment XD

Quite not that many to see builds on yt going for accuracy..its those little things that make the kit so valuable..thats for the paint tip.

oh man you have no idea how many times i was going to buy the old tamiya hood kit, glad i held it off for so long XD I think even the regular edition she will look stunning, just beware the mast (8:28) is really easy to break

Hi! Where did you buy the Hood? I love this ship. This brand is going to launch several more ships, HMS Duke of York and the Tirpitz, that I remember seeing. The bad thing is that their website is not up to date and the news in the catalog does not appear.

Yeah their website is unusable atm.. I brought it on ebay (~$100AUD). It seems flyhawk is doing well as a company, i'm most looking forward to (was hms hood) now is USS bunker hill! Oh and Tirpitz is already out!

Why does this 1/700 model have the same grades of detail, than my trumpeter 1/350 Hood with an extra PE-set?! I love Flyhawk, but they should make bigger scale models, too.

Yeah they are making some pretty impressive kits! If i remember correctly they are making an 1/350 HMS prince of wales

@@SevenScales Im looking at that one on scalemates for quite a while, but it didnt come out, I think. It probably got cancelled like the Italeri 1/35 Higgins.
