Your flying procedures, equipment usage, ATC communications are always spot on. Then add great decision explanation, good story telling combined with video, audio, editing and narration makes your videos top notch. Then add in the good b-roll footage gives you a fantastic edge. Still cannot figure out why everyone is not watching this stuff.

These videos are absolutely fantastic. I am about to start flying more for work and the IFR planning, go/no-go rationale, and overall decision making in these videos is a fantastic. I really appreciate you making these.

Just discovered your channel. We got a lot in common. I got a M600, an RV8 and I was a drummer in my youth!

Nice!!! Send me a picture of your -8! How long have you had it? Did you build it? And why arent you drumming any more???

I like it because I can go back and see my notes for any particular flight (clearance, revised routing, etc.). You can get those empty books at Staples. Thanks for reaching out!

Really enjoy your videos. Fellow Meridian owner. I noticed you routinely use zero flap settings for TO. I did that in my A36 but recently my PA46 instructor recommended 10, POH says 0-20, curious your thoughts, thanks in advance.
@lifeinthefl942 жыл бұрын
Eric - Thank for watching and for reaching out. Glad you're enjoying these. Great question. I recognize that the POH calls for up to 20deg of flaps on departure but two out of the three instructors (both big deals in the P46T world) that I used for my initial training felt that that was unnecessary and recommended no flaps at all unless within 1-200 lb of MGW. In my experience that has worked well. One less thing to forget during a busy time. Oddly, if I'm at MGW and takeoff with no flaps, I never hear the stall warning. Alternatively, when I depart with 10deg (rotate at 85kts) I routinely get a stall warning, which is odd because with the flaps, the stall speed should be less. I think that is a stall warning calibration issue. TBH I don't think there is a lot of science behind it and if in doubt would follow the POH. Hope this helps. Jon

@@lifeinthefl94 thanks so much, exact same thing happened to me recently with 10 flaps, so interesting, thanks for the quick response. Also appreciate your pre flight weather explanations in your videos. So great. Thanks for taking the time to make great videos.

Jon! I was on salt lake center over southern Utah the other day and it sounded like I overheard you in 9DA! I really wanted to say hi but the controller seemed busy. Was that you? What brought you down this way?

When did you get RSVM? What's your TAS at 300?
@lifeinthefl943 жыл бұрын
Ive had the RVSM STC since April, 2020 and am very happy with it. Many of my runs in the Meridian were at the cusp of its range - NJ to Chicago or Nashville, especially with winter headwinds, for example. RVSM makes those trips pretty reliably one leg trips. 275kts TAS/265gph. I do use oxygen for when the cabin is above 10k' for prolonged periods of time using an oxygen concentrator from Inogen. HTH.

Tom B,Were you trying to ask about an “exceedance” ?
@StephenMongie3 жыл бұрын
So did you pay to add RVSM? Did you think it was worth it? Debating it on my M600.
@lifeinthefl943 жыл бұрын
I did. I have been very happy with it and ultimately recommend it. I suppose it also depends on the destinations that you typically travel to. I do a lot of travel to places that were right on the cusp of the safe range of the Meridian, so the added range makes a difference. I suspect that in the M600 that added range would be quite significant given its endurance. Hope this helps.
