There's just SO much good stuff going on in this video. First off, there's of course the main point; the video debunking/analysis. But beyond that, we have his knowledge of Soviet kids entertainment (I assume from growing up in the Soviet union according to wikipedia), his knowledge of circus techniques (again, I'm basing this on his wikipedia page) and getting a quick cameo of a great performer to boot! And then, to top it off, he performs a ffrankly painfully believable awkward conversation at the end. Awesome work, really above and beyond any reasonable expectation!
@nakenmil8 жыл бұрын
Oh, and it was actually really interesting hearing about Soviet media/entertainment in that era, it's not something I know anything about, except arguably that puppet show "Das Sandmännchen" which we used to watch as kids (although it was from East Germany, not the Soviet union itself).

How can you tell the camera had 'global shutter'? As in, what telltale artifacts does this create? I couldn't see in the graphic you showed.
@CaptainDisillusion8 жыл бұрын
As camera makes quick horizontal pans, look for slight slanted distortions in objects that should otherwise stay vertical (buildings, trees). If there are none, it's a good bet shutter is global. Sorry that part is so brief. I HAD TO MAKE ROOM FOR GOOFY JOKES ;P
@chartokai8 жыл бұрын
+stiimuli A global shutter makes the full image of each frame in one go so it looks normal. A rolling shutter scans the sensor building up the image and this means parts will be scanned at different times causing a delay. During camera movement this fast a rolling shutter would warp things with an leaning tower of Pisa effect.
@flinx8 жыл бұрын
+stiimuli the alternative to a global shutter is a rolling shutter. With a rolling shutter a line of pixels is recorded, then the next line, then the next... Because it takes time to record each line, when the camera is panning quickly, objects appear slanted, like a telephone pole. If the object is moving fast, like an airplane propeller, it looks warped.

I was wondering if any viewers could help me find the series mentioned at 0:58 "She fell from the Clouds". It just looks so interesting to me, I'd love to watch it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I found you in 2018.. You have colaba with channels I follow and I've been binge watching, I love you. I hate the KZbin algorithm for not letting me discover you sooner.

You have so much talent I can't believe you're not featured on some major televised event or something because you have a whole incredible amount of talent that's spewing out of your videos the way you make them it's just incredible as I watch them

Hi Captain D, quick question, are your videos independently funded or are you associated with a larger company? Your videos are incredibly well done and very reminiscent of some science-based children's tv shows (that was intended as a compliment). Either way, keep up the good work. I love your content.

If you slo-mo the video (setting on the bottom-right, Play Speed to 0.25, and keep stopping by space button), you can catch frames, what shows that, the woman with the kid helps to the ground the kid, by catching her / him by arms, and lifting down to the ground. At 0:58 (original footage) , there is a frame, where the kid is in her hands, not on the ground, like a woman holding her kid in arms, then helps the kid to legs, a few frames later. So the kid comes down from air to the arms of the woman, then the woman let the kid to the ground onto own feet.

Have you been sketching in Figure with these outro melodies? Or was it just made in Reason?
@CaptainDisillusion8 жыл бұрын
Usually in Figure, but for this one I took the sketch into Reason to add that sweet, spacey pad B-)
@PhilMarsala8 жыл бұрын
CaptainDisillusion composes and performs all of the sweet melodies that appear on his videos and he put a whole bunch of them up on Soundcloud (I think?) a couple of years ago as a Christmas present for his KZbin subscribers. If we are lucky enough then he might put up some of the new ones including that sweet ditty of an outro too 👍☺
@x-iso8 жыл бұрын
+CaptainDisillusion that pad blended in so smoothly that I didn't even notice, but the sound of Thor that is used in Figure is so familiar once you hear it one too many times :D it's good though. Please share your Allihoopa profile with us :P
