Flying High - WRC Rally Finland with pure engine sounds (years 1999-2010)

Since 2011 season marked the beginning of the new 1.6 litre engine era in the WRC, it is time to remember the decade of the old 2-litre engines World Rally Cars battling it out and flying high in the fastest and most beautiful gravel event of the World Rally Championship - Rally Finland. And yes, naturally with pure engine sounds.

I hope I`m not cursing this rally now, but every year I wait for a serious accident to happen. It`s a spectacular rally and I hope it continues as it is, but if you have a decent off at this speeds it does not matter how safe these cars are. It`s a great video btw, thanks! :)

Its not actually the turbo itself. Its a Blow Off Valve that makes the noise, the BOV helps stop the turbo's compressed air destroying the engine as you come off the gas if there is too much. The popping explosion of the exhaust is the Anti-Lag, this is different and it is to help keep the turbo spinning when the car is not on the gas during a corner. So when the driver throttles after the corner, the turbo is ready to give power straight away.
