Flying my Sony a7s3 on an FPV drone.

Go pro footage has never really hit the mark for me and flying a lot of 5 inch FPV's lately made me wish I could put my Sony on one. Then iflight released The Taurus x8, In this video I attempt to capture stunning aerial footage on the cine lifter FPV.
Even though my results in the end turned out okay I'm even more determined now to try a different camera as I have seen people get some amazing results with a black magic pocket 4k / 6k

Never thought I'd see the day where I put my baby on one of these drones, I'm keen to see what results a fixed sensor camera will give me. I did try Sony Catalyst software but had bad results, even worse in fact even with IBIS off. However some people seem to have had good results with this too. But I'm glad I went through all this to help you get the upper hand when looking at cine lifters. Please read the comments below as some people have been super helpful with great information on this topic. We are getting back into the regular travel content next week! and I'm so excited to show you what I've been working on!

Awesome footage you achieved there! It looks a little soft though. Maybe this is because of diffraction blur because you stopped all the way down to F22?! I would love to see how it comes out when turning off stabilization, increasing shutter speed and using catalyst browse for post stabilization!

I also have the Taurus x8, been flying it stock with a zcam and love it. It's unfortunate that IBIS causes such crazy vibrations as the a7s3 is gorgeous. I would recommend loosening the rubber buffers again if you put a fixed sensor camera on it. Even though it helped with the sony, having those so tight is actually mitigating their effectiveness for a fixed sensor camera, should you eventually put one on top! Great video and looking forward to seeing more!

Hey Benn. I flown my Sony a7siii w/ 16-35 f2.8. I did get some great results with it after putting alpha gel on the mount. It worked with catalyst browse.

Thank you very much for this very informative video! I've been struggling with slowmotion on the gopro and i see you have the same problem i do. When shooting in slowmotion with the linear + horizon leveling there is some very disturbing jerkiness, most likely caused by the hypersmooth algorithm, when flying sideways like you did at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="240">4:00</a>-<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="245">4:05</a>. I wonder if you know anything more about this issue or heard about any fixes? The same problem persists with the gopro 10 as well. It's a pity reelsteady go wont allow stabilization to work in linear mode so it seems we are stuck in the super wide angle view for some time still.
