Flying the New All Business Class Leisure Airline - Beond

I tried out Beond Airlines, a new all Business Class leisure airline from the Maldives. Here's how my flight went...
I went to the Maldives for a mega aviation trip and flew on the famous seaplane around the islands. On my way back, I flew Beond Airlines from Male to Riyadh. There are 40 all Business Class seats on the A319, which is the first and only plane Beond Airlines operates so far. Before takeoff, the captain briefed us about the flight plan and route. I was able to capture amazing takeoff footage on camera.
During the flight, a 3-course dinner was served with individual platting. There is Wi-Fi onboard and the airline uses iPads as inflight entertainment. After dinner, the white leather chair can be turned into a fully flat bed with little privacy. I spoke with the cabin crew about the airline operation before we arrived in Riyadh. Currently, Beond flies between Munich, Zurich, Riyadh, and Male.

I had my doubts about this airline but seeing how smoothly everything was going, how good the service was and the quality of the seats, this is here to stay. They are geniuses to hire staff from the best rated airlines as well 👌🏼👌🏼

@@danielb6766 1. The seats actually are poor compared to modern business class seats of other airlines (and they are very expensive, those promo rates are NOT available anymore). 2. No airline can sustain their operations in the long run when only 1(!!!)-15 seats are booked out of 44 seats. You're welcome.

Great concept. The one thing I find an area for improvement is the lighting. It seems pretty bright, like in an operating room. I think a good lighting concept would make the experience even nicer.

I don't worry about privacy. I just want the bed to be comfortable. Why do you need privacy to just get a nap? Good food takes time to prepare properly. Be patient...all good things are worth waiting for. Amazing aircraft and an amazing crew.

Nice video Sam, however I struggle to understand how the BEOND concept has any competitive advantage over the likes of EK and QR. Subpar product, schedule, ridiculously low prices, I’ll be surprised if they last 3 years. Hope I’m proven wrong because the staff seemed really caring and nice.

Not too sure why there are so many critics of the BEOND business model; they haven't placed themselves in the same market as QR, EK, EY Business Class; they are a leisure/holiday all-business class carrier that will most likely collaborate with large-scale brands, travel agencies & maintain corporate tie-up's which will easily allow them to fill their cabin up (at least on a seasonal basis). The question around the validity of a model is non-existent because there is a heavy business/first class market outbound from EMEA if you just have Maldives in mind.

They fly out of Zurich twice weekly. They will have a tough time competing especially with the fuel stop in RUH.... Edelweiss flies nonstop, both Emirates and Qatar twice daily each, plus Etihad daily. None of the large tour operators are selling this airline at the moment. I wish them luck, a super small fish in a large pond of sharks!
