Story: Dingo's aren't normally domesticated as they're not your typical dog (takes someone willing to really work with the animal) but once they're bonded with you they're amazing. Guy that used to live on the same street as me had a lovely female Dingo (and we're talking suburban Australia) that was a rescue - she was a lovely animal but can confirm, they're very skittish. He would walk her morning and night, but as much as I tried to get her to come to me for pets, all she ever did was come kind of close, but as soon as I put my hand out she would dart back to her owner (he was a lovely man as well, he loved her like a child). She never bit anyone, was placid as can be, but it does seem to be their nature to be quite skittish (natural survival instinct) so you can imagine what it takes to form that bond - takes a lot of love, time, care, bonus if they get to know you as a pup (usually makes it easier).
@cnut73839 ай бұрын
fun fact about dingoes is that the australian cattle dog breed is part dingo. its not like they interbred sometimes but the breed itself came about from intentionally adding dingo to the mix

We have nothing dangerous in NZ. We have the Katapo which is kind of our version of a Redback but it's only down south. We're safe as here. No dangerous animals, no wolves, bears, no rabies. It's pretty good here. The only real threats are David Seymour, Winston Peters and Chris Luxon.
@fives.9 ай бұрын
Even the most obscure exceptions like banded sea krait are rare & fairly insane beachfront situations more likely to happen up north where the water's are warmer and the snake is more likely to float ashore Dogs sniffing out and potentially shucking up a grey slug on a beach is potentially pretty terrifying though and can kill them easily, that's one thing that I would stay vigilant about, but also mostly fairly unlikely to happen (mostly) Editor's trivia: for international reference, Winston Peters is NZ's answer to Trump except more dangerously coherent AND racist in very cunning ways. Multiple governments in the past twenty years have tried various ways to 'too cool'-ing their way out of doing a confidence & supply agreement but they all fail in the end because our most consistent voting base is glib in it's conservatism, which has been NZ First's hardest voting block since '96, when Winston campaigned on the back of anti-Chinese "Asian Invasion" rhetoric - man has been a China hawk since before I was born and I'm nearly thirty. Multiple political commentators that have tried to shill NZ First as a centrist stronghold ignored the social policy interests of the perpetually superannuated base that votes for him and have paid for it with their credibility in different subtle ways. OP sorry to leave a chapter book reply but there's a ton to unpack in there & Australia has friendlyjordies, we don't have shit lol
