Entertaining video, looking forward to the crossing. We’re planning our first Mexico trip in the Mooney this year and not looking forward to the radio calls south of the border. But that’s as close an equivalent to a Bahamas trip on the west coast as we can get….

@@aronhalt I saw that, and he conveniently flew to the same place we're planning. 6 hours from WA to Yuma, 3 hours for the last leg to Loreto. Did you need the FCC and Customs documents for the Bahama trip?

Nobody asked for radio station license. The customs sticker purchase they might would notice missing and it’s cheap.

Man, Florida's airspace is a zoo. Think I'll have to finish up my IFR and use an IFR flight plan if I ever do a similar trip.

No. I’ve hade my VFR license less than a year and my Mooney isn’t IFR ready. At some point I’ll work on it.

Sometimes I am. Other times I’m relying on ADSB traffic scans along with alerts in my headset. This time I was just on ADSB as the flight was short and I didn’t expect all the traffic.
