Perfect wing and nothing unnecessary parts. Its amazing how well it flights despite lack of any kind of propulsion.

Thank you Michal... funnily enough (despite appearances) a flying will tend to be less efficient than a conventional layout of the same span. The flying wing has to provide stability through wing twist or reflex, so it can never generate the same amount of lift as a standard layout with a separate elevator. I still love them just the same though! Cheers.

Holy smokes Paul .. that's a big wing . I know it's a bit late but well done ..the final heart pounding shot says it all

Thanks Jeff! It was lurking in the car yesterday but the wind was a little too much. Hopefully you'll get to see it in action before the summer is out.....

Cheers! Have a look on the Nurflugel section of RC Groups for the build thread. Happy flying!

Hi Paul, are their any drawings available for this beauty?

Why an Mono airfoil wing always nose down and loop. How to prevent that on flying wing ?

Great build ! You should be very proud.

No problems with torsion stiffness ?
@miniphase3 жыл бұрын
It flutters if I get some speed on, but it's built for thermalling and cruising around so not a problem.

@@miniphase Indeed, every plane has its safe envelope. My first RC plane was a Geier from Robbe - still fascinated by flying wings. Thanks for your video !

Paul... How does it Thermal? And did you build another bigger one? Seems to fly like it needs more weight... Sure looks good in the air! Thanks for the vid!
@miniphase6 жыл бұрын
Thermals very nicely thank you Fred. Yes I added more nose weight, see here- kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrSfqFse8SIkLc currently building a 5 metre version for windy conditions....

nicely done. i kept thinking at the end that you might fight it back to the landing area only to find the wire fence. :)

That's a real beauty - again! A question. What was the spar? Very brave of you to maiden on a windy day like that..............
@miniphase7 жыл бұрын
I think I was foolish rather than brave Mike....but lady luck was on my side! The spar is 1/4 inch pine top and bottom with 1/16th balsa shear webs front and back to make up a full span box spar.
