Gate 12 at SAN is still terminal one. Also the PADRZ2 departure is not “paradise” but Padres for the baseball team. There are a bunch of intersections off the coast with Padres themed names. WNFLD, KERNL, GWYNN, HFMNN, CHKNN, and RIDDL. My favorite is KERNL after the former Padres radio announcer Jerry Coleman. He flew in WW2 for the USMC.

considering a career change at 45 and wondering like many at my age considering the same. What are some realistic expectations to have getting into this industry at my age? Possible to make it to a major and have time to upgrade to Cpt or better off staying with a regional? How many pilots are still currently waiting for call backs from furloughs?? I have a question. I fly mostly on American Airlines and just recently took Southwest Airlines to Reno from Pheonix. I noticed with American Airlines 737-800 landings I dont fly completely forward in my seat when but both flights on Southwest when we landed I couldn't keep my body back in the seat. I was wondering why? is it just me or does Southwest require something done differently on landing? Still enjoyed my flight just was wondering.
@dereksellars2 жыл бұрын
Most likely is that AA Terminal is closer to the end of the runway, therefore they don't need to use their reverse thrusters,. Not sure, but pretty sure. Big Ern will tell us. Happy Flying :):)
@bryceleinan2 жыл бұрын
I’m guessing you were coming in on 16R/34L into Reno and since the terminal is on the north side of the airport, they like to exit the runway as quickly as possible to reduce taxi times, so landings in Reno tend to be fast, at least from what I’ve noticed. Reno is about to go through some massive construction, so that will change things a bit, especially if they wind up rebuilding a concourse, forcing all traffic out of 12 gates instead of the 23 they have now.
@bryceleinan2 жыл бұрын
@@dereksellars - that is correct in Reno. AA flies out of B, and Southwest is out of C. Most traffic lands on 16R, which is closer to concourse B.
