Do you ever intend to make 15 inch diameter version of the tobu? I love the look and performance benefits, but I can't bring myself to put 17s on an nb

We have looked into it fairly heavily, but our manufacturer can't currently supply that size.

Will you ever introduce the Deep Silver or similarly brighter silver to the Toby 17x8?
@FlyinMiataVideo4 ай бұрын
It's possible! We can't promise anything, but all customer requests are taken into account by adding your suggestion to our list - if we receive enough demand, we'll look into it further.

I wish you'd sell retouch paint for your wheels. I have two minor curb rashes in my Kogekis , which are nearly imperceptible, but i wish i could retouch them.
@FlyinMiataVideo7 ай бұрын
Sorry about that! This is difficult to achieve for our Kogeki wheels because Konig (the manufacturer), doesn't have paint codes. Please see this link for more info: konigwheels.com/wheel-info-tech/wheel-care-and-wheel-finishes/arent-paint-codes-wheels/

Sorry for the delay on these. We hope to have another shipment in later this month.

Do forged wheels provide more steering feedback? For example, if you have 2 sets of wheels with the same weight and design, would the stiffer set of wheels provide more feedback?
@FlyinMiataVideo7 ай бұрын
Maybe technically, but most average folks probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference.
@FlyinMiataVideo7 ай бұрын
The sidewall construction of the tire is going to make a much bigger difference.

I'd like to know what Keith thinks about Enkie RP-F1's for street use and canyon carving (no track use) since they are about the same weight as the Tobu's for half the price. I can't afford $500 wheels but I want light and RP-F1 seems like the ticket. My '22 Club's stock 17's are way too heavy.
@FlyinMiataVideo2 ай бұрын
RPF1s are fine, but they have notably not great brake clearance. If you like the look, go for it. Although our Kogekis weigh within a few tenths of the RPF1s, are rated to be a bit stronger, and we'd argue that they look better.
@FlyinMiataVideo2 ай бұрын
Note that the Enkeis are not forged, so all of the talk in this video about forged wheels do not apply to the RPF1. They’re a popular wheel but not in the same class as the Tobu in terms of strength or resilience.

mmm, forged wheels.. I would love it if I either had a valid reason to spring for them, or enough money that the cost didn't matter, lol. Also, would love more wheel options in general for the NC. It seems like we've got two or three options if we care about weight, and maybe 10 more options if we don't. Every NC seems to run one of the same two or three wheel options out there.

Are there any all chrome wheels available for NB SE’s? Mine has the 16in wheels and I’m dying to get chrome.
@FlyinMiataVideo7 ай бұрын
They're not actually chrome, but you might like our Deep Silver color on the Kogeki. They will fit over your brakes and will give you more tire options. Available in 15x7 and 15x8 in that finish. flyinmiata.com/collections/wheels

You say these are lighter than the factory wheels - does that include the forged BBS?
@FlyinMiataVideo7 ай бұрын
Yes, our 17x8 forged wheel is 1.5 lbs lighter than the factory BBS wheel, despite being an inch wider.
@floodtheinbox7 ай бұрын
So when people say "Forged Carbon Fiber" it's really, in structure, closer to cast rather than an actual forging. And yes, it weighs more and is less strong than the proper woven stuff.

Considering a full set can sometimes cost more than a used Miata, this is something we won't pursue. It would be cool, though.

Almost all of our R&D time and budget is going into NC parts right now, mostly for the turbo kit. NC is getting huge amounts of love from FM.
