Rayn'arts, it depends. Everyone always talks about joining the Air Force or navy to become a pilot, as if it’s a piece of cake. No it’s not. The air force and navy only take the best of the best to be pilots. Also, if you get in, it would mean sacrificing a very significant portion of your life to it. Oh I forgot to mention, that you could also die in combat. It’s worth it if you have what it takes. If you have the perseverance, and dedication to spend so many years with the Air Force or navy. If you are going to join, then don’t join with the expectation that you aren’t gonna go to war. And also, don’t join expecting to be served by the army with all kinds of benefits. It’s about what you can do to benefit the army. Not what it can do for you. The navy or Air Force is hard work. Contrary to popular belief, It’s not like it’s a sugar coated gateway to becoming an airline pilot. All in all, I wouldn’t say that it’s worth it, unless you have all these qualities and more. I would recommend going to a college or university with an aviation program, where you can get a degree, and also get a license to become an airline pilot. That way, you have a backup plan, in case you can’t fly for whatever reason, for example if you have medical problems. No matter what your path is to becoming an airline pilot, you would want to have a backup plan, and a different career plan, just in case being a pilot doesn’t work out.
