Reminds me a lot of a Futaba radio. I am a die hard Futaba user. Futaba has some settings that I just love. Throttle mapping is just one feature I love about my Futaba. The other is servo control. I can slow down or speed up my steering servo using the radio. Those who knock Futaba never used one. Sure they cost more, but it is one of those things, you get what you pay for. Try one and you will never go back to anything else.

With moderate soldering skills the Flysky GT3B can be modified to run on 4AAs with swapping out the voltage regulator to a Pololu S7V7F5 (it's also recommended for lower power consumption) and with the software update it can control 8CH and 79 cars. While at it may as well peel off the polarizer from the screen (hold the LCD with your other hand to avoid bending the pins) and stick it to the inside of the screen window to reverse the colors. It's so much easier to see the screen during the day.

I really like your channel and your reviews, but man, you should get the Traxxas link BT module and you'd see what the Traxxas radio can really do. You can use any smartphone (android or ios) to configure everything, profiles, training mode and such as well as get telemetry data from the onboard receiver (incline, tempterature, rpm etc.). So in my honest opinion, having used a lot of those receivers, the Traxxas one is very good. The user interface is also miles ahead of any radio with a display.

KO Propo EX-RR ST2 or earlier version EX-2 (still sold new) KO Propo is a family owned business made in Japan by employees making a decent wage. The transmitter is upgradable, customizable and repairable at home (all parts are sold to replace or upgrade to latest version). The latest version has trick 20% higher resolution steering sensor. They even added additional ball bearing to stabilize it Their HCS receivers, gyros and servos transmit messages 4 times faster than traditional servo signal! Normal receivers communicate with servo via 1-2ms signal transmitted 50-300hz (50 “analog” & 250-300 “digital”). KO Propo communicate via 0.25-1ms signal transmitted at 1,200hz. If we don’t consume products from the originators then Chinese knockoffs will have nothing to copy and the hobby will collapse. Honestly the industry is a ghost of what it used to be 20+yrs ago.

It’s an excellent radio, regardless of price, but at it’s price point it’s amazing. I use all six channels to control my TRX4’s front and rear diff locks independently, along with the two speed transmission, and a servo winch. I’d recommend this to anybody looking for a quality radio that won’t break the bank. I’ve owned Nomadio, Airtronics, and Spektrum radios, and I’d rather use this Flysky because it does everything I need for my racers and crawlers.

Your videos are really informative and I like your style across the board, based on what I've watched so far. I just recently subscribed, but this review gives me confidence that the FS-GT5 is a reasonable choice for all but "money is no object" kind of builds, or maybe people. I'll look through your catalog of available videos to see if you've already done something like it, but what would interest me is what makes a $400 radio $335 worth better than the FS-GT5, for example? I recently read some posts on a forum site where it looked accepted as a fact that anything less than several hundred dollar radios from less than a handful of manufacturers including the apparent "reference standard" Futaba provided simply unacceptable performance and aren't worthy of mention or consideration unless you're a cheapskate beginner or for use in a kid's toy. I suspect at least part of that kind of attitude comes from snobbery, then again I'm sure quality differences between radios costing less than $100 and ones costing $250 and up are readily apparent. But is there anything about a radio like the Flysky GT5 that would actually limit performance, if only at the pro level? I get that plenty of people are fortunate enough to be able to spend $500 on a hobby as freely as I do $50, or even $5 and I don't know how many actual RC car professional drivers exist, but I get sponsored drivers choosing high end radios. Especially if sponsored by a company in the radio business. But if you swapped out the receiver in a world class driver's car and had him use an FS-GT5 transmitter, would it be a handicap that makes delivering world class performance more difficult or even impossible? If you happen to catch this comment on a video this old and it's not something you've already touched on, at least this inquiring mind wants to know! 😉 Thanks for all I've picked up from you so far! 😁👍

Hello kind Sir thanks for the awesome review and I look forward to hear from you soon. I hope you can help me with choosing between the FlySky GT5 and the RadioLink 6GS. Because I cannot make the decision between the two transmitters. If I am going to bite the bullet on one of these radio's I will need your help so please can you give me some advice on how to proceed and what I should buy for my new Arrma Typhon 6s? I have seen that you also have reviewed the RadioLink 6GS. (which was also a very awesome review, thank you for that) So the transmitter will be used for controlling my Arrma Typhon 6s and the FlySky and the RadioLink both are the same price for me here in the Netherlands. But I have a very hard time with choosing the right one because I want to have the best experience with my Typhon. I have been racing on road with nitro for a couple of years, but I have stopped for a long time now 10 years or so, and what I have learned is that there is so much more on the market that for me it is an overwhelming experience to get the right car and now I finally have made a decision to get the Arrma Typhon 6s. But it comes with a lousy radio so I've heard. I am going to use it just for fun and not competitive, I am going to drive the car on the road and gravel roads, and I will also need a very long range because the gravel roads are very long and I have some very large grass fields (3 football fields across). The last place I plan on going to be driving is in a forest. So these are the spots and sort of surfaces that I'll be driving on. I am going to use the Typhon 6s like daily . I think that the radio's both are great, but in your professional opinion, which one do you recommend? So I can get the best experience with my new Arrma Typhon 6s?? I hope that you can find the time to explain which one you are recommending for my personal use. Thank you very much for your awesome reviews and please stay healthy and stay safe. Greetings from the Netherlands!! MacSpacey out!!!

In my opinion, Radiolink rc6gs is better, maybe not so nice, but waaay more setting options

FSGT3C hacked is the best cheap one. It supports also cheap rx-modules. Please also review the rx compatibility next time.

Great video. What is the name of that battery pack that you use? And is it a direct connection (no modifications needed)?

Is this the same Flysky transmitter that has extra slots inside so that more channels can be installed? Can't remember if it's the 3 channel with 5 extra slots, or 5 channel with 3 extra... ? I've got a project that will need at least 5 channels, but more options are always cool. Thank you for the great reviews, always my favorite!

So how much of the lack of granulation or the smoothness is due to the esc and not the transmitter?

Hi, they still recommend the fly sky ? Or should I wait for something new coming out...

I just got one of these radios, it's meant to flash and vibrate as well as the audible alarm when the batteries are low but mine is only audible alarming. Interested if anyone else has experienced this?

So, if you want to consolidate, do you have to replace all the receivers in your cars to match what the new controller will mate with? If you had to do that it would be a bit much. That would be a good followup video. thanks

How easy is it to scroll through the menu? The previous fkysky was a pain? How many positions are the aux channels? How easy are they to set up? Are they easy to set up for dig? 4ws or winch?

i still rememebrer how i tried to adjust endpoints on trx-4 tqi radio hundreds of times, counted led flashes, double pressed buttons etc...just because my local hobbyist told me it would be a good radio to start with.then he sold me another sh...t crap spectrum rugged that even had no display backlight...since then i trust in aliexpress-and everything just works (like this flysky)

Hi! Can you set up one of the aux channels as a braking channel? To be able to put front and rear brakes on separate channels?

Thanks for the intel. Bought the GT5 and awaiting its arrival. I also got the Hobbywing Axe combo all for my Traxxas Tarax-4 Bronco Ranger. That said i have the Pro Scale light kit in it. Will the pro scale light block work in this Fly Sky receiver? 🤔
@RCReviewChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Traxxas lights have power module that can take any input from 4v to 14v. So you just have to tap the battery wire.
