I love this in a size 8m for foiling as well. I'm not sure about the comment at 5.18. I have dropped this kite and had to swim in with it full of water...

Yes seems the sweetspot. Of course when the wind drops complete you ve to swim...but i was able to hold this kite in the air on 3kts just pulling the front lines severel times. Some kind of pumping technique.

How good is the Upwind Ability of the Peak 5? Heard mostley negative things regarding this point.
@TomKitesurf-Passion2 жыл бұрын
On the 8m on foil really no problems massive ability of upwind but also depends also on foil/technique. Of course less then with normal tube or like a soul. On the bigger size like my peak4 13m it more to feel but also there no problem to have enough power for upwind. On TT or directional only its definitly the case. I release soon my first foil sess with the peak4 in 13m on 5-8kts was so fun 😀

I feel like the upwind ability is reasonable. ***Just not as good as a Soul***. This kite makes up for it in playfulness. I've definitely not had an issue going upwind even on my TT on the 13m.

Which Kite attitude bar are you using, how long are the lines? I have a 9m chrono as my light wind kite... Just wonder whether a 5m or 4m might work nicely as next size down..

i use the universalbar(can be simple adjusted from 47cm - 57cm) with 21m lines. With my Peak4 5m im able to ride from 10 - 25kts

Update on the wind range of the Peak 5 8m? Front foil size and rider weight? Thanks!
@TomKitesurf-Passion2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, i was now 2 weeks in vacation in mediteran sea(italy). I foil with this kite several times and compared to my 13qm & 5qm Peak it the best choice i think. 8 - 15 kts Windrange(comfortable) 7-17kts max. My weight 72kg with 1150 Wing from Gong Curve M. The 8m is fast enough to have really fun and also have some lift which helps alot on maneuvers. More vids/impressions will follow soon!

@@TomKitesurf-Passion interesting that you like the 8m better than your 5m, most foilers recommend the Peak in size 6 and smaller. Great! Thanks

@@davep5039 both have there advantages 5m better in waves more playfull 8m more lift better maneuvers i like both

Big difference in speed from the 5m to 8m? I read one review that said the rider could get started in the same low wind on his 6m Peak as he can on his 8m Peak because the 6m is faster.. Thanks
@TomKitesurf-Passion2 жыл бұрын
@@davep5039 5m is extreme fast 8m is comparable with 12m tube. With 5m you have to be carefull sometimes to not overstear it and lost orientation but all about experience. You could start maybe with the 5m but on ride its not really fun when there some wind holed. With my 5m it was down to 12-13kts fun but then there is to less pressure when you turn but then depends also on foil size and exp. 6m is maybe a good compromiss when you only want 1 peak/foil kite for 10-20kts

Hey I have the peak 4 8m It can not hold more than 10 knot whitout been overpowered. Is really 15knot, I do not see White caps Enjoy!
@TomKitesurf-Passion2 жыл бұрын
For a short time we had always above 15kts its a very small lake under 20kts there are no white caps and i measure always. But i think its very important to have a good bar with much depower like 50cm + 20cm depower adjuster with my modifyed bar i can even go up to 16kts with the peak4 13m but not on foil of course and no really fun. My limit with 8m foil is around 13-14kts which is still fun.
