Great video, thanks. My Bullet looks exactly like yours but was made in 2000. Do you know anything about what kind of oil to use in the gearbox?
@MCCJustMotos Жыл бұрын
Cool! Yes I do, I’ll check in the AM (for me) and lee you know.
@Exiledk3 жыл бұрын
I would add: Remove the push rod cover and pour a little of the new oil in there. It negates the "dry start". Also, remove the quill bolt from the timing chest while draining the old oil, there is old oil behind it and it will drain into the sump. Just pull it and wait a few minutes before replacing it. Soak the filter in clean oil before replacing it. Otherwise, great job.

Thanks. You said the engine needed 2.25 quarts, but you put in 1.5 quart and it measures over the full mark... Did put in more oil later?
@MCCJustMotosАй бұрын
The 2.25 quarts is what the book called for. Just make sure you have enough oil on hand. When you run the motorcycle the level drops down so that’s why you fill it full, run it for a while, and then recheck it and refill.

hey, do you find it difficult to push the bike off the centre stand? i find your centre stand at a much forward position. I have the same issue with my classic 350.

thanks . I would add one thing : soak the filter in oil before installing
@MCCJustMotos4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That’s not a bad idea. It’s a very thin element and I’m not sure how much it would hold but, an ounce of (cavitation) prevention may that literally takes 3 seconds of time may be worth a pound of no-oil headache ;)

I found same bike but it seems it has electrical issues. Is it worth it buying to fix?
@MCCJustMotos2 жыл бұрын
Hey Diwash1! I love these bikes and the electrical to fix is not very hard if you know a little bit about what you’re doing. They are very good bikes

Is there separate gearbox oil? And do you have to change the oil on the primary side? Thanks
@MCCJustMotos3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no.... It has a separate gearbox side lubricant...but its not oil. Per the manual its grease! Use green grease and you have to get it warm by riding and its best to and suck it out with a hand pump. The manual says to bake the grease in a pan to get it hot enough to pour it in (no joke). There is an approximate 2' nut/cover on the left side. I stuffed the green grease in a plastic bag and squeezed it into the reservoir. I probably should make a video lol.
