This is a topic that has interested me for the longest time. I'm playing as Académica de Coimbra in Portugal and in my first intake after having Omonoia from Cyprus as an affiliate, the best talent is a Cypriot. I've always wondered how much impact things like the YR of the country the affiliate is from, the club's facilities and all those factor affect when a player who clearly comes from an affiliate comes through your intake Another thing I'd like to see tested, maybe more as a novelty? Is seeing how the nationalities of your staff affects the intake. As I mentioned, my team is from Portugal. Currently two of my best youngsters from previous intakes are both English/Portuguese despite not having an English affiliate, while I do have a couple English staff members, the most important was my DoF who was there when those players came through the intake. I wonder if having a staff team with many different nationalities affects the players that come through the intakes

Hey bud, I haven't mentioned in my videos but as I added more coaching staff / affiliates, the world scouting knowledge expanded for the club, and made the pool of newgens more diverse in their nationalities.

The nationality of newgen is affected by the world scouting knowledge of the club. For example psg can spawn Qatar newgen due to having qatar scouting knowledge from psg chairman. In one of my journeyman save a second division chinese club that i managed (my nationality is Malaysian) spawn Spanish newgens because i was managing spain u18 youth team at the same time and hence gained scouting knowledge on Spain 😂

once again, getting into the information and in such depth that no one else bothers to get into. thank you for presenting all of this so nicely. I've managed to get my board to present several possible affiliates to me and this is going to help me make my decision. I have a couple from portugal, one from belgium and Junior FC from Colombia. the teams from Portugal benefit from higher national youth rating than any of the other teams, by about 10-17 points, but they both have awful junior coaching and youth recruitment along with poor reputation. The team from Belgium has a national youth rating that sits in the middle of the proposed affiliates but once again, despite having decent club reputation, has abysmal youth recruitment/junior coaching. Junior FC in Colombia seems like the best pick for me as Real Sociedad in Spain. They are listed as the 3rd biggest club in Colombia, they have a ***20*** rating for youth recruitment, and have the best junior coaching compared to the other affiliates. Not only all this, but they will also send youth prospects who speak Spanish! Which is always a plus when you are managing a team based in Spain.

In affiliate youth recruitment, aside from having a diverse range of players from various nations, there are limited tangible advantages. The players' current abilities and potential may not significantly impact outcomes. If you're seeking talent from different nations, opt for countries with high youth ratings, reputable clubs, excellent junior coaching, and lower-quality youth facilities. This detail is clearly shown in VIDEO!

Thank you for the analysis, it is great to have some clarity on how affiliates function. My big question that I don't think was touched on as part of the analysis is if affiliates increase the overall CA/PA of your intake. Would a team with 100 junior affiliates have more players to pull from and therefore have higher average CA/PA versus a team with no affiliates? Or is this just a way to pull different nationalities outside of your home region.
@baiisun Жыл бұрын
That's an excellent question. I would say no from my testing but it's not statistically confirmed. An easy test for that would be to have the maximum amount of affiliates with all stats to the max and see if you get only wonderkids. I think not. I'll try it. From my testing the maximum of affiliates newgens is 8 out of 16 anyway and you're not taking some from the affiliates clubs, like it's not they have one less, the best one for example. I think if you pull great players from affiliates, your local newgens will compensate and be weak. The average CA/PA should remain around the same with and without affiliates. But that's just my theory.

Great work :-) I saw a post couple years ago in the SI forum about newgens templates. According to the poster (who worked at SI) the newgens gets assigned different templates when they are created. Templates definied what kind of player the regen would be (poacher, wingback etc). The different templates where influenced by different things like HOYD prefered playstyle. The poster also claimed that nation of the newgen influenced the template. For exemple would brazilian wingback have higher chance to have good flair. I find this template theory really intresting. Is it something you plan to test? CA and PA is important but the most impotant thing is attribute distribution. A 130 PA with good distribution vould be better then a 150PA with wrong attributes.
@baiisun Жыл бұрын
CA is calculated based on weighting of attributes for a specific role. Max has a video about it if you're interested. We can assume PA is similar. Which means that a high PA for a player means he could reach an equivalent CA for the role the PA was calculated. Which also means that a low CA/PA could be low but attributes values high for attributes not connected with the role chosen for the player. Which means if you retrain the player, the CA/PA should increase. (But it is said PA doesn't change no matter what...) Example a central defender with high Technical, First Touch, Shooting attribute values could reach a higher CA/PA if retrain as a Forward/AM. Also, note that Flair is not part of any CA/PA calculations (as Aggression, Natural Fitness, and Determination).
@mattiaslindholm531 Жыл бұрын
@@baiisunyes im aware of that, ive seen all his videos. But that is prospect progression. What im talking about is the starting template a newgen is regenerated into. The factor that decides if a player will be created into a poacher, or wingback type of player. I think you can just by eye test judge that there are templates that newgens are created into. The big question is wich factors determine the type of template used. Is it random or can you influence the result to maximise your chance of getting a sweeper goaltender instead of poacher.
@baiisun Жыл бұрын

@mattiaslindholm531 Жыл бұрын
@@ebfm i fully understand that. I think the most intresting question thou, is how the templates are applied generally on newgens, not only newgens from affiliate clubs. Are they completely randomised at the intake? Can you make ingame choices that gives you a higher probability to get players more suited to a specific role? Does the templates even exist or is it a myth? I think this could be tested since player type is listed for each player. If one did 10 simulations with different HOYD and noted the different player types generated, one should be able to see if there are a pattern worth investigating. If there are templates and these templates could be influenced by for example your HOYD prefered playstyle, then it would give more depth to choosing which HOYD one should hire. Would you trade off a good personality against a higher chance of getting a player that suits you tactic? Should you switch your HOYD regulary to get a more varied intake?
@jlee829 Жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to see if having a youth player affiliate club would hurt your intakes if your team’s national youth rating is higher than the affiliate. Over time, would you have worse youth players collectively due to bringing in players from a nation that is less likely to produce top talent?
@psychotic17 Жыл бұрын
My thoughts exaxtly.

I dont think so because the low number of foreign regens. 35 regens in 100 intakes makes it 1 foreign regen every 3 years. If you have 6 affiliate clubs you proberly get 2 each year at avarage. Thats too low for affecting youre whole crop.

wow this is a complicated one, I still have a lot of questions. Like its clear here that its important to have better facilities than the affiliate team to attract their best prospects over. But is it more important to have a wide gap (i.e. poor facilities in the other club) or do you want to just nudge them out (I guess to develop their guys as well as possible before they make the switch). Also like some of the other youth prospect ones I'd really love to see some data regarding the best youths not just the average. Something like average of top. I also wonder about things like how league/country reputation and ranking would affect things (would I struggle to attract talent to brazillian talent to iceland even if im champions league winners) I'd also love to see a comparison between the domestic talent and affiliate talent. Like are the tajik youths worse than dutch? what if you were in an area with poor youth rating and had an affiliate in a top league like brazil, would the brazillian players be a marked improvement over domestic?
@ebfm Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, all good questions. 1. Regarding Youth Facilities, I don't know whether you just need to 'nudge them out' or 'the higher the better'. 2. I tried making box and whisker graphs (which will show you the 'top' youngsters) instead of averages, but then there was too much information that crowded the screen so I just used averages to keep it simple. 3. Here's the comparison between domestic / affiliate talent: Team E Dutch newgens Average CA/PA, no affiliate clubs (from Part 3 video): 39.6/72.3 Team E Dutch newgens Average CA/PA when it had 1 affiliate club: 40.0/71.9 Team E Tajikistani newgens Average CA/PA when it had 1 affiliate club (from this video 10:00): 40.9/68.6 I say the presence of an affiliate club does NOT affect the CA/PA ratings of your club's "regular" newgens.
