I think it’s awesome that you give us all the links for everything

Thanks, man! Yeah I've been frustrated before trying to find that exact parts used in a video and not having any idea where to look, so I always throw them in there in case anyone ever needs them.

It's a good looking rig. Been thinking about picking one up, it'd be my first 1/10 crawler/trail. I already have a 1/12 crawler, and it runs the quicrun fusion, and I do love that setup, but a 1080 and appropriate motor would be a touch a better. Wheels and tires are always alchemy, you gotta get them just right, and they get finicky, but once they are dialed in, it's a good solid base line. Eager to give one of these a try, thanks for the vid!

Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment! A Fusion would be a very good upgrade for this truck and you solve the ESC problem plus a better motor in one go. The stock ESC is a must replace imo.

I see a dark band around the tire where it tore. I think its rubbing on something. My guess would be the screw head for the pan hard bar or steering link. If its the pan hard bar the extension could be removed and a block could be added to the top of the bar at the mount point instead, or get a longer pan hard bar they're to short. I really like the Idea of putting the servo on the axle and making it a 4 link instead.

I think you're 100% correct about it rubbing, when I pulled it off it was almost a perfect circle of damage around the tire.

Hey thanks for then mention! When I did that shock mount modification I was still really new to RC’s and I just found a shock mount or bracket on Amazon I thought might work. That shock mount just raises the mounting area up about 5mm and allowed a 90mm shock. I now have 90mm desert lizard on it and does okay, not great. You’re absolutely correct about the front servo not allowing for much more articulation and the servo on axle mount would definitely help. I just not sure there’s a servo mount available to do that without fabricating one. On that pro-line tire ripping like that, I’ve never seen that before but I’m guessing, and it’s only a guess, you might have a really narrow wheel in combination with the dual stage foams may be putting a lot of outward pressure on the tire. Though the tire should be able to withstand that but it doesn’t look like it was rubbing on anything because you’d have an even wear line or grove in the tire. It literally looks like it just ripped open. Just a guess. Really good video! Like what you did and you have good ideas for improvement. 👍

Thanks for replying! When I posted this I had only linked the video and then I figured out how to do mentions and went back and corrected it lol Glad you were able to see I took inspiration from your videos! The tire issue is related to an adjustment in the link and using a flathead hex tipped screw as opposed to rounded. So when I tried to give it more space I just threw whatever hex screw I had in there, I didn't think about the tiring rubbing against it. But I think it was a combination of both the screw and the dual stage foams. In my Cherokee XJ build part 3 video, you can skip to where I take that tire off and the wear is a perfect circle.

@@YARCWest gotcha, couldn’t see a wear line you got it figured out. Your new videos are awesome! I’m watching the crossRC recovery tow truck now. Really want that one lol Great job on the videos!

@@NEO-RCI appreciate that, man, it means a lot. I took a chance on the EMO X3 not knowing too much about CrossRC other than they have few pretty good trucks, according to other YTers, but of all the rigs I have....this one always impresses me

@@NEO-RCI'm still learning how to RC recover as well, when editing I can see the mistakes that I made, I should have wrapped the hook around the top of the brush bar and not the d-ring. Would have given me more clearance and prevented the XJ's front tires from hitting the ground so much. They're really fun to record though haha

Did you ever end up doing the axle mounted servo? I’m at the stage of doing the same thing and having a hard time going about it without doing an axle swap entirely.
@YARCWest3 ай бұрын
I haven't yet, but I fear that an axle swap may be the only route.

@@YARCWest Yeah, I’m about at the same conclusion. Thanks for the reply though! If you do figure it out I’m looking forward to seeing it!

Nice work! Is that an icechest in the back?

It is! it is a knock off Dometic ice chest with an Igloo water cooler, among other things
