I’ve had this plane for a couple of years. Bought one when they first came out and it wouldn’t assemble, sent it back. Waited a few months and bought it again, went together perfectly. It is one of the best planes out there and quite a value with the floats and skis. Love flying it on 3 and 4s packs.

I am 31 yrs old and paralyzed from the waist down from being backed over by a truck at 2 years old..I am currently saving up to go full in wide open in this hobby and gonna start things right with a ix14 transmitter so I will be set up for awhile and be equipped for anything I want..I learned rc heli flying way back on a blade 450 3d but I am a scale flyer and don't care for 3d on the helis...I am fully hooked already on the planes and dying to dive in once I get my funds saved up...My dream plane is the draco

Brian at 40:00 minutes in the Video is how I have been flying my Ares Gamma 3 Channel Airplane for the past few years but it is my best solution for weak landing gear mounting. A simple hand launch and belly landing is all I need to fly my Gamma trainer and I recently in the past two weeks with a small soft snow cover at my town Park I even hand launched and belly landed the Hobbyzone Carbon Cub 1.3 meter. Very nice flying Airplane your new FMS Kingfisher is and Happy RC Flying 😊🛩

Hey Brian, the floats on this plane are a drop-in fit with the FMS 1.3M Super Cub. I repurposed my Kingfisher floats for that purpose. I added a servo controlled rudder though. The skis are awesome. Try it, you’ll like it!

I put the PA18 1.3m tires on my Maule and they're nice and squishy. And much lighter than the DuBros option 👍

Brian, Love your videos! I feel like you give the most honest reviews and most useful, practical information. You and camera crew are a great team! I have a tip. You can buy essentially the same glue as the FMS stuff at your local home improvement store for way cheaper. It's called Gorilla Glue Clear Grip Contact Adhesive. It is under seven bucks for a 3 oz. tube. Kingfisher is on my short list. I'll use your link when I purchase. Keep the up the great work! - Joe

Been a subscriber for several years and your a straight shooter when it comes to your reviews. Just had a crazy thought when I was watching you do your pole dancing (huba huba). How about setting up a limbo stick (maybe a pole noodle to be safe) and see how low you can go? Thanks also to the camera crew for your great contribution.

Where you placing battery in compartment…I’m using a 3s 2200 short lipo and wonder if I using too light of a battery …it’s a ovonic 3s 2200 35c/70…weighing round 143g

i own this plane and its one of my favorites .i fly mine on 4s and its awesome.i put timber wheels on mine and they work great. love it has skis floats and wheels and comes with fpv hatch for the price u cant beat it.

I'm on my third KingfisIher and I've loved all of them. Learning to flly' I've owned at least 20 planes and destroyed almost all of them. Fortunately I learned fast. The only weakness is strripping the gear off with a bad landing. Not the planes fault.

mine was a tank...would take a lickin and kept on tickin! crash and refly! Even dunked a few times on water flights. very tuff frame and wings...Will get lost in the FOG tho. RIP.

This happened on my Super Timber a few days ago. The paint stuck to the glue and the paint separated from the foam where it was glued on. I stripped the paint and used epoxy.

Thanks Brian! I'm about ready to pick up an Aeroscout since spring seems to be coming early here in Iowa. Would you recommend this one as a 1st plane after a mini warbird (mostly in stabilization mode)? Looks a lot better than the Aeroscout and even comes with floats is very tempting. Thanks!

The AeroScout would be a better FIRST plane, after a mini warbird. It's going to be a lot less likely to break, but this plane is a GREAT plane. bprc.me/AeroScout I would hold off on a PNP plane, rather than a BNF, if there's a good BNF option. It'll make things easier, and help tip the scales in your favor when you're brand new. If you don't already know, PNP - Plug and Play (sometimes PNF - plug and fly) meaning you have to provide your reciever, which is not a huge deal, but a lot more complexity than most beginners want to deal with. BNF - Bind and Fly, which means you just have to BIND the plane to your compatible Transmitter. We also show how to do this in our videos, if you're not sure what to do.

thank you for the great couple of vids on this, love the jokes too. when does the reflex actually do anything? If you let go of the sticks will it fly straight? does the reflex switch off and give you full control with your inputs taking over - as it seems you were flying it the whole time and the reflex done nothing. you have a beautiful property there.cheers from a N.Z fan.

BUT, you can add an avian ESC and turn it on too, if you need it.

That would be fine. I fly mine with 3200 4s no problem. Also, MAH does not affect the ESC as far as power goes, with the ESC being able to handle it. That would be the "S". For cells in a series. The ESC for this plane is rated for 3-4S. So, if you put a 6S lipo in there, that would probably not end well. Either frying the ESC, or overheating the motor, or both. The more MAH the longer the flight time. Also the heavier the battery becomes. But, as long as your within the specified cells, it won't matter how high the MAH. Of course, there is common sense that needs to be followed as well. A 9000 MAH 3-4s lipo would be too big and heavy for the CG. Every plane has a sweet spot for battery size. Most, if not all manufacturers of airplanes will provide some literature about what range of battery size and MAH will work best with that particular aircraft.
