I highly recommend IMAC competition. It will make you a much better pilot. I remember one day at our field I was practicing my IMAC routine. That day we had about 8-10 spectators. After I landed the spectators all applauded me. It was a great feeling. They appreciated dedicated precision flying instead of the usual just flying around in circles.

Yes. For sure. Anyone who watches my videos has heard me say that many times. Fly some pattern or IMAC.

Thank you for sharing an informed review of the Olympus F3A. This is (by far) the most accurate and informative description of this plane that I’ve seen.

Michael. Do you fly this plane with as3x plus (turned on) or no gyro at all during the flying in this video? How would you suggest to practice wind stabilization gyro on or off?
@MichaelWargoАй бұрын
NO!!!!!!! Never fly stabilization with any pattern or Imac. You will Never reach your potential.

@@MichaelWargoThank you for answering my question. I’ve heard they don’t allow gyros for these competitions and value your opinion. Happy new year sir. Keep the good videos coming.

Hey Michael. Big Question. Have you flown the New 1000mm Durafly Carbon Arcus F3A Biplane. That's the one I'm really looking at. Trying to avoid 6s batteries. Let me know please. THANKS

I literally Just recieved one. I am now flying for Hobbyking again and no longer for FMS... I will be flying it and testing it as soon as I get good weather. It's together and seems pretty good from what I can see. The Olympus is good in a lot of ways. Ailerons are very slow making it hard to snap, other than that, it is really good. We will see how the smaller one flies. Stay tuned. You know me, you will get an honest view...

@@MichaelWargo Thanks a lot Michael. I've watched all the videos out there on it so far. Nothing bad to say about it yet. Just trying my best to stay away from the cost of the 6s batteries. Whenever I order new size batteries, I usually order least 5 at a time. Just the thought of that scares me away.

Down loading the required aerobatics is a great idea Micheal thank you! 🙏🏼

I was flying today in 15-20kts. Saw one first hand being flown - fabulous model…get one!! I have Extreme Flight stuff but this is a fraction of the price and a very capable machine for the vast majority of pilots keen to nail tricky f3a stuff without the ££££ risk😊

Note: that is a very heavy 3300mah battery. Defeats the purpose to fly High discharge in pattern. Not needed. Go with a 25-35c 4000-4500 and you can be at the same weight and actually have enough time to get a good sequence in.

I try to always fly as light as possible... Good advice

I was introduced to F3A by the British World Champion Terry Westrop while stationed in England. Terry flew from my home base on RAF Upwood 1983 to 1989. He built me one of his flagship designs "Loaded Dice". I bought this FMS Model last month to remind me of that time 41 years ago. Sadly Terry was killed in a motorcycle accident several years ago.

You will enjoy this plane, and I am sorry to hear about Terry...

Great video Michael. That long, slow, flat, roll you did down the runway was like watching a Ballet movement. The airframe helped out a lot, I’m sure. But your skill level and patience was steering the aircraft. Question. I don’t remember seeing you do any High Alpha / Harrier movements. How capable is this airframe at doing them.

I have one too, it likes a bit of speed, dont let it go slow on final. It flies great but you have to check if everything is square, mine came out of the box with a slight twist in the fuselage and it made loops offset to one side.

Did you have any issues with securing the battery tray? What about the CG issue? I have this plane but havent flown it yet as Im not happy with it so nose heavy. I built this per the instructions but worried it will land like a bullet.

I don't no if you will get this I was wanted to now batter position how far up in the tray ?
@MichaelWargo8 ай бұрын
I had it pretty far back to be honest. Actually where the forward strap was barely on it.

Hello, I bought one, my Predator 42-58 550 kv motor, after 4 flights, the magnets were all crushed, so poor quality, the motor was blocked, with destruction of the controller. I am disappointed
@MichaelWargo7 ай бұрын
Hi, I am sorry to hear. I have never seen one with this problem, but it happens. Motors throw a magnet. Not necessarily low quality... You need to write to FMS> they are awesome about that stuff.

@@MichaelWargo Hello again, thank you for replying, but I don't know where to go, but the bill makes the price of the plane increase a lot, if I can find out from fms I'll take it
