Having done this at an extremely high level for about 20 years, real life applications, I now only use one monitor for any modeling work. It helps you hone in and have better focus. Take my word on this one!

Think of it as a blank canvas... what they were working on was relatively rudimentary! Architecting a model with the ability to make alterations down the road... that's how you start showing true talent. Speed almost never matters!

I feel like Excel is extremely under-appreciated as a programming language. It's technically a pure functional reactive programming language, all of which are otherwise largely unable to escape academia, and yet it's _incredibly_ widely used, even by novices who don't consider themselves to be "programmers" and who might be intimidated to use tools that are labeled as "programming" related. Plenty of random-cubicle-drone-written programs in Excel from the 90s are still happily chugging away while most programs written by galaxy brain 1337 uber hackers in Lisp using all the "correct" techniques have long since been abandoned and forgotten.
