This gun gets a bad rap. I've owned mine since about 2008, and put lots of rounds through it, regular and suppressed, and have rarely cleaned it. It's never not fired, not once jammed, and its remarkably accurate. The key is to have a good gunsmith tune the trigger, since the stock trigger was pretty spongy from the factory. It aims and shoulders incredibly well, and is can be switched between main and offhand without much issue. The forward eject works flawlessly. I think I remember it is picky about mags, but I bought some hk steel mags for it way back when, and this might be the secret to the reliability I've enjoyed from it. Looks strange, yes, and kinda a challenge for proper sling attachment, but she will grow on you with some shooting time.

Heard something from a Belgian soldier about the trigger assembly/lower receiver ... they just poor water in it to clean it while on the field, no fear of getting that much rust since it's mainly made of plastic. Still being replaced by the Scar now.

As a super massive Splinter Cell fan, I have always dreamed and will always dream of sometime getting my hands on an FS2000. For context, in Splinter Cell, the iconic rifle of the series, the SC-20K and the SC-40K, were based off of the F2000, just modified for Third Echelon's operations, such as an integral suppressor. It's said though that FN discontinued the rifle in 2019, by far my favorite firearm I know of, despite being a bullpup.

BELGIAN FIREAMRS RULES FN has made a good job on this weapon. it's easy to strip, easy to clean / maintain, EVERYONE can shoot lefty or righty, it's easy to use and its modular (on the military version you can change the foregrip with the FN GL1. For the top you put the originaly build scope for it, or run on iron sigths or other aim-points that you can buy aftermarket with the picatanny rail system). And on your hands it have nice feel, its realy comfortable. The last point that i'm find cool on this thing is that its a short weapon with a long barrel.

Well a mate of mine is in the belgian army and he said it's an excellent gun, accurate and recoil is very low which make it very comfortable in combination with it's design. One negative he said that it isn't as reliable in sandy conditions as one might suggest. So pretty much useless in Afganistan, Iraq. I'm sure they will get rid of that problem soon, if they didn't already. (this review was a like 4 years ago)
@TheLakabanzaichrg3 жыл бұрын
It got discontinued
@zebradgr83393 жыл бұрын
Can't agree on the recoil, it is not so small - quite stronger than the G-36 with the same SS109 round. Plus can't agree on problems with sand ...the rifle was used in Afghanistan by the Slovenian armed forces, it is still used by them in Mali and didn't hear any complaints regarding. There is however an issue with feeling the effects of wind against the rifle when in standing shooting position (the rifle has a large cross section so there is a big area that is affected by the wind and with wind gusts one may have problems placing accurate fire). Precision - crazy good regarding the short length of the barrel.

for one, the gun is NOT plastic. it is fiber reinforced POLYMER...which almost all duty style pistols are made of today...and nobody calls them plastic. and we have seen how strong and reliable that a polymer framed pistol really is. for two, FNH makes some of the finest firearms in the world, with MANY militaries AND special forces units running and having ZERO problems with. three, the bullpup design may not appeal to everyones visual asthetics, but they are very functional and give you full barrel length in a CQB type length rifle. so they are very functional and do a wonderful job at what they were designed to do. so despite whether you like them or not, these are FANTASTIC AND VERY RELIABLE weapons that have their purpose and do their jobs VERY well. and I like how all of you people 'hear they have so many problems', or 'hear they get hot and break all the time'....lmao, if this were true, im pretty sure MILITARY AND SPECIAL FORCES units WOULD NOT use them....just like when I hear people say glocks are better than H&K pistols....right, keep dreaming girls. just because you cant afford something, doesn't make it junk....

You sure its charging handle reciprocates? The view from the left side toward the end of the video had no movement of the charging handle so it either cycles faster than KZbin's frames or it's non-reciprocating. Beautiful weapon in my opinion. The sultry curves of the lower receiver seem to wrap and meld together perfectly with the all business upper receiver. Too often we see firearms that force us to choose between the two, with AR and SCAR variants boasting high practicality in a boxy, uncomfortable shell or classically styled rifles and AKs that lack in function but feature luxurious curved, sometimes wooden surfaces. This seems to offer the best of both worlds.

I'm deciding on getting an fs2000 or a scar 17s and can't decide, but since you've shot both which do you prefer?
@thacouchcommando10 жыл бұрын
Not even close to the same gun. try them both out and decide.
@7fightboy10 жыл бұрын
I realize they are not even the same gun, which is why I am asking for opinions as to which one is the superior firearm.
@thacouchcommando10 жыл бұрын
OK... price goes to Fs2K -$1k from the Scar (if you can find it BECAUSE they are no longer being imported). The trigger HANDS DOWN goes to the Scar because you can really upgrade it Timney or Geissele triggers (Geissele Comp. 3.5lb on mine). Fs2K is in a pack like the P90 and the upgrades suck(Neu-trigger is like an aluminum tape band-aid) . Range in both firearms is debatable in the 500Y tests with 65gr LC ammo,both 1/7 twist chrome lined barrels, with the same optics (on a bag). Ergonomics go to the Fs2K as a out of the box (but the Scar can be set up for you... Just like ANY AR-15). In my opinion the Fs2K is good money spent on a odd gun that is good in range and in room clearance and my Scar is my go to 3 gun choice.
@7fightboy10 жыл бұрын
my2005stang Thanks for the info and the comparison. The price won't be too bad because I'm going to get it from some people I know pretty well, but is still a concern, which leads to my next question, in your opinion is the scar 1k better than the FS? I like the lower price, but I like the aspect of the scar being able to be used for more applications (like deer hunting).
@thacouchcommando10 жыл бұрын
donkey puncher I didn't even notice that you were talking about the 17s until just now. UGH loaded question. NEVERMIND me I don't have a 17 (.308) but I have the 16 (5.56/.223). The 17 would have the range out to about 700Y easy. But not a good house gun.

I love my FS, it is 1 MOA accurate so I removed the red dot and installed a Nikon 2-7 Nicoplex hunting scope. It is plenty tactical when set to 2-3 power, and allows me to hit the wing off a fly at 100 Yards using 55GR Federal. In addition to, I installed the Tri-Rail in place of the curved foregrip; allowing me to install a Surefire Weaponlight. I am very happy. It broke in after 100 rounds (I fired 60 and cleaned the barrel in between each shot for match barrel break in). After break in, the trigger pull naturally reduced to 4 lbs. That is not a match pull however it is a match gun.

Steven Li older FN guns like the FNC and recently the FN SCAR and FN57 as a sidearm. F2000 is only used by spec ops.

I think this often overlooked puppy has the right idea: seal off the bolt carrier and trigger housing and so long as you have a mechanically reliable system, there's no stopping it. Save bad ammo and mags, but still...

Longtime watcher, though I rarely comment. Big fan of your content, personality, as well as just your basic handling of all the firearms you feature. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge! But I'm sitting here on my coffee break at work and I just came across this video of yours, and I have to write this. Considering there are over 2800 comments on this video, I'm sure I'm late to the party, but here it goes: "Does it come in the 40-watt range?"
