10:41 Right. This is why the Gust 16" is best with 305 size wheels. Go with the FnHon Zephyr if you want 349 size wheels.

To be frank it wont be fair for me t rate them as I havent rode all of them. I guess it will highly depends on the rider fitness and also the setup of the bike. If everything is equal, I guess the most efficient bike should be the X1 carbon because of the carbon frame.

Hi, I'm Mike here. Can I check what is the chain link length for gust 16? I had change to 11 speed but the shimano 11 speed chain is too long for the gust.

*I have the Kespor K7 (a china 20" folding bike) and it has fenders and rear rack too. I upgraded this bike to the shimano deore xt RD and shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Next thing I want to do to mine is change the bottom bracket to hollowtech and replace the freewheel hub with a cassette but I already changed the freewheel to 11-28 and chainring to 58T so this bike is already alot faster than stock. This bike is only rated for 230 pounds max weight, I have a passenger seat with backrest on the rear rack, handle bars and footrests and my 6 year old daughter comfortably rides on the back of this bike. I weigh 225 pounds and my daughter weighs 80 pounds so we put over 300 pounds on this bike with no problems and I can still cruise at 17 mph with her on the back and climb hills. Before I upgraded the RD this bike had the shimano Altus rear derailleur and with my daughter on the back the derailleur would phantom shift or miss gears, I assume because of the excessive weight of my daughter and me. After upgrading to the Deore XT rear derailleur which I won in ebay auction for only $22 with free shipping no more shifting problems with over 300 lbs on this bike, even when shifting while going up a steep hill or under heavy peddling. Another problem with the heavy weight on my bike was the headset would squeal so I upgraded it to the Litepro sealed bearing headset and problem solved. Long story short as long as you install on your bike or it already has a heavy duty RD, stem, headset, hollowtech bottom bracket and cassette instead of freewheel and you keep everything tight and lubricated your bike will hold alot of weight and not have problems. If I'm wrong please enlighten me.*

It's a yes and no answer. Manufacturer usually conservative in their advertise weight limit. Usually bike will be able to take heavier load but it might cause some damage in long term. (bend hinge/ locking mechanism loosen etc) In fact higher grade RD doesnt equal to heavy duty. The higher range RD for example XTR are build for race so the durability are usually not as good as deore or SLX

Nice review! I bought the same model after watching this. May I know your handlebar is 580mm right? What would you suggest in term of the length? 520mm or 580mm, or longer?

I will say 580 is quite comfortable for most of the people. 520 might be too twitchy and lost the stability when you are riding 16” wheel and going fast (downhill especially) To go longer will be based on your need. Personally I don prefer extra long handlebar. I like it to be compact and just nice in handling.

Mine is 74/130 and this is actually a caliper rim brake frame. There’s this transition model where caliper brake only. Doesn’t come with v brake pillar and disk rotor mount

With the weight you might want to look at 20" instead of 16" bike. Most of the 20" folding bike got a weight limit of 100-120kg (220-260 lbs)

@@firdausatan1478 depends on what type of rider are you bro. If you are someone who interested or already know how to mod a bike, then Gust will be good for u. The room of modification is wide and you can even start with a frame only. If you just want a bike to ride and don want to know anything about modification or headache about clearance and tech spec, then K3 plus is for you. The ride feeling is abit different (Gust being less stiff but comfort, K3 will be stiff and responsive) but in term of speed, both bike should be similar.

I guess it’s a 1x11 and 2x9 speeds setting as the number usually is the number of speed. It read as Fgd (Fnhon gust disk) 16 (16” wheel) 11 (11 speeds) If my guess is correct the main diff will be 1618 frame come with front deraileur mount

Hi bro, please advise if the Gust can accommodate 69T chainring? I look at my 60T chainring like not much space left before a bigger chainring will hit the frame's chainstay. 😥 I want to buy the 69T CR, but scared can't fit. 😭

69T chainring??? That’s a crazy size man! I’m not sure if it’s enough clearance for that. I’m at 53 and it’s very tight

@@HengChooChian Thanks for the reply. You're right. My 60T CR is already quite near to the seat-stay. I did some measurements, and I estimate 69T CR will be short of a few mm clearance; unless some kind of spacers are added at the BB area, I think. Well, as I'm still not strong enough, I'll stick to my 60T for now. The heaviest gear is more than enough for me (except when I speed downhill at >50 km/h and spinning out). If I ever become strong enough, I'll then get that 69T after upgrading my 9-speeds to 11-speeds. Cheers! ☺

Can I pull it around on its wheels or just carry around? Also without suspension, I wonder how does it perform on off-road terrains or going towards uphill's occasionally?

Before that, this bike is not for off-road purpose so definitely a no no for off road usage. Uphill are ok, not the stiffest but you will be able to tackle most hill without a problem. You can push around but can’t pull due to the design of the frame (common for bi-fold design bike). I usually just carry around as this bike is very light.

It was stated by the manufacturer when they launch this bike, I guess total weight as it’s not stated. I wouldn’t suggest to use this bike with child seat tho because of the design.

@@siqihuang691 20” gust should be fine in terms of max load but due to the ant fork design there isn’t any mounting spot at seatstay where storm and blast come with the rack mounting point which will be much steady. Better safe than sorry if riding with kids. I will say safety is the top priorities 😁

The main difference will be the diameter. 305 is slightly smaller and 349 is bigger. 305 can fit a wider tires and 349 usually come with narrower tires around 28-35mm. Another thing to consider is the tire choice. 349 generally will cost you a bit more compare to 305.

At 1.78m, I’m afraid you will need quite a bit of mod work to make gust fit your height. Yes it will be too cramp for. Your leg probably can’t fully extend and you arm will be cramp. The solution will be using a extended seatpost and also use a curve handlepost to increase the space of the cork pit. It won’t easily wheelie but somehow the stability will be compromise. I will suggest you visit your local bike shop to do a test ride.

Not really. Me personally prefer a silent hub but some rider prefer loud hub. Guess it start from the buzz from chrisking hub where it’s so significant

Yea the brake track paint wear off after 1 ride 😅 it’s inevitable I guess. I can’t feel much diff in terms of the wheelset but I think litepro have a better finishing quality

Hmmm not sure if we are getting the same info. The numbers you stated are for 20” as I know. The 1.8m is based on the seatpost length, not a official number from fnhon.

Got my Gust-like foldie with very similar chromoly "Ant"-shaped frame. Rides well, but am disappointed that my right heel always hit the right chain-stay of this frame. Left leg no issue. No issue with my other road bike, hybrid and MTB as well. Strange. 😥

It might be the geometry of the frame. Apparently folding bike are much more compact and not all frame maker can take care every aspect. If you are not using clipless pedal, try to move your saddle to front.

@@HengChooChian Thanks! I plan to get a cycling-specific flat-pedal shoe, coz the heel looks visually narrower at the heel than standard sports shoe. Bet it'll help reduce the chances of my heel hitting the chainstay's brake-cable housing.

There’s no magnet so it won’t be as secure as tern/dahon. The easier way to secure is using a Velcro strap. Like all bi fold folding bike, you can only push and not pull.

Nice review! My understanding is that FCB is present on the disc version but not on the vbrake version for the reason you have mentioned. I'll be buying one soon, getting the Titanium color and disc version. Update: watched your other video and saw that your frame has FCB. That's weird why your frame have FCB on it.

My frame is actually a transition edition where only compatible with caliper brake and without v brake pillar. I always prefer caliper brake over disc or V because of the ease of maintenance and clean look.

@@MK_AR69 don think so as I clock in more than 10,000 km mileage on my previous gust and it work just fine. Pretty sure they had done their stress test before. But provided that rider is within fnhon announce weight limit. Hope this help! 😄
