Single pay system is the most sensible solution but instead of using government bureaucrats, create an administration comprised of the best professionals in the industry. Insurance is a marriage of gambling and a ponzi scheme. The pros already have it figured out to where they, as middlemen, can make hundreds of millions all while providing healthcare. There also would need to be a non-partisan oversight commission. Most other civilized countries do it but we're Americans so we'll strive to do it better. That will make "America Great"!

the only way to solve the healthcare system in this country and insure decent fair "affordable" insurance for the citizens of this country is to cap the profits of big Pharma which is out of control, and cap the profits of the insurance industry and the providers and roll those savings back into better services and lower premiums for the consumer. we regulate public utility profits but do not regulate the health care industry. what good is is heat and lights if your dead? I'm not for taking some ones money as in wealth redistribution but health care is the sole most important thing that people need. Way before public utilities. So it needs regulated. They can still make millions in profits and provide the service that they need to. It's unreal that people lose their life savings, properties etc because they get sick or have a serious medical condition. American politicians need to step up and either provide themselves with the same coverage the we the citizens that pay their salaries do. A two year senator or congressman has very affordable health care for life. A veteran has to travel may miles several times a year and jump through hoops, the tax paying average citizen doean;t even have a hoop. we are at the mercy of the CEO's of these huge corporations who have well exceeded the amount of profits that any family could possibly need for at least 3 generations. Cap the profits of the industry and force a percentage back into better services and lower premiums for the consumer. that and that alone is the only way to fix it. Just like a public utility. All sounds great but that will be the true testament on whether this is going to be as good if not better than Medicare which is the fear of most baby boomers now.
