Thank you for this video. I spend a lot of my time while foam rolling thinking I’m doing it wrong bc I would find certain spots that hurt really bad. Now I know that’s what I’m looking for.

Thanks mate, this was really useful! First time foam roller here, just gearing up for a first ever half marathon attempt in 2 weeks time. The difference rolling has just made to my legs after months of training and no rolling is unreal haha!

Is there a right or wrong direction to roll? E.g. should you always roll toward the knee or away from the knee? Same question for adductors and, well, everywhere!

I so desperately want to try this, but my arms are so weak and this requires quite a bit of endurance in your arms especially for the calf muscles :(. So I have some questions: 1. Does it have to be one session of 3 to 5 minutes or can I break it up into 30 second bursts with 15 to 20 seconds of recovery (for my arms)? 2. You don't really mention it, but should I do some kind of warm-up before I start (on off days when I didn't exercise)? 3. Is there a risk of injuring yourself if you put a bit too much pressure on it or stay a bit too long?

If you've never rolled your IT bands before... I recommend a leather strip for between your teeth..! Jokes aside, foam rolling is really great, and so is this video :)
